Genshin Impact Vesna is now playable in Version 7.1 as a five-star Anemo Sword character built around on-field Stellar Swirl damage. Her debut banner opened with the September 23 update, and she runs alongside Vodyanitsa in Phase 1 rather than being followed by Vodyanitsa in Phase 2.
That live banner pairing matters because the two new five-stars also work well together. Vesna wants field time and reaction support, while Vodyanitsa can prepare healing, resistance reduction and interruption support before Vesna begins her enhanced Skill sequence.

The Genshin Impact Vesna Character Event Wish began when Version 7.1 went live on September 23 and remains part of the first-half banner period through October 13. Vodyanitsa has her own concurrent Character Event Wish during the same phase.
The two Genshin Impact Vesna and Vodyanitsa Character Event Wishes use the shared Character Event Wish pity and guarantee system. Pulling on Vodyanitsa’s banner does not reset the pity you built on Vesna’s, although obtaining one featured five-star obviously does not grant the other for free.
What does Vesna do?
Genshin Impact Vesna is an on-field Anemo damage dealer whose kit is designed around Stellar Swirl. Instead of behaving like a generic Anemo support who briefly enters to trigger Viridescent Venerer, she wants a meaningful field window after her teammates have established Cryo application and buffs.
Her enhanced Skill state is the centre of the rotation. Normal and Charged Attacks help cycle her special Skill uses, while her Burst fits into the larger damage sequence rather than defining a separate quick-swap role.
Best Vesna team in Version 7.1
A strong current Genshin Impact Vesna team is Vesna, Odette, Cryo Traveler and Vodyanitsa. Odette and Cryo Traveler establish the off-field Cryo and Stellar Glimmer support, Vodyanitsa handles sustain and resistance utility, then Vesna takes the field to trigger repeated Stellar Swirls.
Players who do not own the full premium core can still build around the same structure. Diona can supply Cryo application, shielding and healing, while Sucrose or Faruzan can fill an Anemo support slot depending on whether the team needs comfort or more damage.

Best Vesna build direction
Beyond the Chrysalis is Vesna’s signature Sword and the cleanest fit for her live kit. Scarlet Proof remains the main artifact set built around her intended damage pattern, with ATK and CRIT taking priority while Energy Recharge is adjusted to whatever the actual team rotation needs.
Do not force a theoretical stat target if the build stops functioning in practice. Genshin Impact Vesna needs enough Energy to use the Burst where your chosen rotation expects it, but excess ER beyond that point competes with offensive substats.

Vesna materials
Taking Vesna to level 90 requires 168 Golden Fern and 46 Vagabond’s Cracked Armor alongside Vayuda Turquoise and the Ethereal enemy-drop family. Vagabond’s Cracked Armor comes from the Guardian Blade of Drifting Snow, while Golden Fern is collected across the new Snezhnaya areas.
High talent levels also require Profaned Sprout from the weekly-boss material pool. Because weekly drops are time-gated, those claims are usually the part of a complete build that cannot be rushed in one session.

Should you pull Vesna?
Vesna makes the most sense for an account that wants a new on-field carry and is interested in building around Stellar Swirl. If you already own more main DPS characters than you can use, Vodyanitsa’s support role may fill a broader account need. If you want both, their shared Phase 1 timing means the decision has to be made before the first-half banners end.
The best way to judge Genshin Impact Vesna is to use her trial and decide whether the Skill-state combat feels good to you. A new reaction package can be strong without being the right investment for an account that does not enjoy the rotation or does not want to build the supporting characters around it.
