After a fairly well-received start, Tower of Fantasy is aiming to expand its community by launching on Steam. How will this affect the current player base?

Hotta Studio, the developer of Tower of Fantasy has confirmed that the game is coming to Valve’s game storefront, Steam. Tower of Fantasy already has its very own Steam page.

Currently, the game can be downloaded through the official Tower of Fantasy website. It is important to note that the game has two versions available depending on your location; the Chinese version and the global version. The Chinese version was released much earlier, in February 2019. The global version was first made available on August 10th, 2022, roughly three years after.

Tower of Fantasy release date on Steam and other details

Tower of Fantasy comes in at around 3.8GB of storage usage on Android or iOS devices. For PC players, it takes at least 25GB of free storage space to install the game. This may not be as large as other MMO installation sizes, but as has happened to Genshin Impact with the Sumeru 3.0 launch, this number is likely to increase drastically as the game expands.

Once Tower of Fantasy arrives on Steam, it might well see an uptick in playerbase size. The Valve client has been a gaming staple to the PC gaming community because of its wide array of features, user-friendly menus, and achievement tracking. It’s likely to aid the game in growing its global playerbase significantly as the wider PC gaming audience becomes exposed to it through Steam.

Tower of Fantasy will be released to Steam on October 20, 2022.

Technical details you need to know before the Steam launch

For starters, if you’re wondering ‘Will I need to uninstall the game from my PC before I can play it on Steam?’ The answer to this is simply no. Tower of Fantasy players can use their PC, mobile, and Steam-based versions of the game as they wish, as long as no other device is using the same account.

Tower of Fantasy has prided itself on its cross-platform nature for its players. The game has been focused on supporting this since its global release. The same is true for the Chinese version of the game. According to the official website of Tower of Fantasy, “the game has been downloaded at least 10 million times”, just 11 days after the global release back in August, a number we can expect to increase significantly with a steam launch now in sight.

Even if the game has not yet been officially released on Steam, the community set for the game has already been fairly active. The page has been teeming with questions relating to this latest bit of Tower of Fantasy news.

There has also been speculation that with the launch on to Steam, Tower Of Fantasy will also open the gates of Vera region to players. Currently, there have not been any details provided by Hotta Studio as to when the region would be unlocked to the global version of the game.

Tower of Fantasy is available now on PC, iOS, and Android.
