The Game Awards 2022 is here, the biggest celebration of video games of the year. During the event, 31 awards will be given to the best games, creators, developers, and esports athletes who have made the biggest impact over the past year.

In addition to the awards, we can expect to see plenty of new announcements for upcoming games.

Announcements and Trailers

During The Game Awards 2022, we can expect plenty of announcements and trailers for upcoming games. Check back for the latest news that is announced during the event.

Castlevania-themed Dead Cells DLC

The Game Awards’ first announcement was that a new DLC for Dead Cells is coming in Q1 2023.

This DLC is called Return To Castlevania, and in the trailer, we saw the likes of Alucard and Richter Belmont make an appearance.

Vampire Survivors is available now on iOS/Android

The roguelite survival game Vampire Survivors is now available for free on iOS and Android mobile devices.

This is also perhaps the best trailer we’ve seen in 2022.

Valiant Hearts coming to mobile

A short trailer was revealed to announce that Valiant Hearts is coming soon to mobile.

Not much was revealed in the trailer, just a couple of static images, so we will keep an eye on Valiant Hearts as it continues development.

Returnal is coming to PC

Returnal made a big splash when it launched on PS5 last year as one of the first major exclusive titles for the system.

Now, it is coming to PC joining the likes of God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Spider-Man that have already came to PC after having been PlayStation exclusives.

Play Xbox Game Pass directly from your Samsung TV

We are living in the future. Starting today, you can play Xbox Game Pass Cloud Gaming directly from your 2021 and 2022 Samsung smart TVs.

You won’t need a console to play. Instead, you can just connect your Bluetooth controller to the TV, choose your favorite game, including titles such as Fortnite, and get playing.

Hellboy Wed of Wyrd announced

A new cel-shaded action game based on the popular film series Hellboy was announced at The Game Awards titled “Hellboy Wed of Wyrd.”

Horizon VR Call of the Mountain will release in 2023

The brand-new Horizon VR Call of the Mountain will be released exclusively on PSVR2 on February 22nd, 2023.

Post Trauma coming to PC and console

A new horror game called Post Trauma was announced at The Game Awards. It has a Silent Hill vibe, and we’re all for that.

No release date was announced, so keep an eye out for future updates.

Viewfinder

This is one of the most intriguing games at The Game Awards.

It is difficult to describe exactly what the game is, but we are so excited for when it releases so we can check it out.

Among Us Hide N Seek

A new game mode for Among Us called Hide N Seek will launch on December 9th on all platforms.

Rather than figuring out who the imposter is, players will know who is trying to get them and will have to hide and avoid them. Think Friday 13th meets Among Us.

Atomic Heart

Atomic Heart is a highlight of the event so far. It is chaotic, fast-paced, and full of action. The game also has a DOOM and Bioshock vibe; it looks futuristic, set in the past, and post-apocalyptic yet vibrant.

You can pre-order Atomic Heart now, and it will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on February 21st, 2023.

Scars Above

Scars Above is a brand new third-person Sci-Fi Action/Adventure game. At first glance, it reminded me of a cross between Returnal and Mass Effect; it looks very exciting.

It will launch on February 28th, 2023, on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

After Us

After Us is an upcoming platforming adventure game that looks like it could be one of the most fun games revealed during The Game Awards.

The style of the game is nothing new, and it certainly isn’t reinventing the wheel, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

After Us launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in Spring 2023.

Replaced

Replaced in a cyberpunk action game that looks like it has the potential to be a really fun game.

It will release in 2023 on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Street Fighter 6 release date and four new characters announced

Capcom has finally announced that Street Fighter 6 will be released on June 2nd, 2023, on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

It is great to see the game coming to Xbox as Street Fighter V skipped the platform entirely, with the last entry in the series being Street Fighter 4 on Xbox 360.

In addition to the release date announcement, four new characters have been announced, Dee Jay, Manon, Marisa, and JP.

Hades 2 announced

When the crowd saw Supergiant Games on the screen, they could be heard cheering in the background of the premiere.

Hades 2 has been officially announced at The Game Awards and will be released as an early-access title.

Unfortunately, no release date was given, but you can check out the trailer below.

Judas, a new game from Bioshock Infinite developers

A new game called Judas was revealed at The Game Awards. When watching it I thought, “This has BioShock vibes to it, or maybe something Arkane would create.”

It turns out Judas is by the same developers behind BioShock Infinite, so if you enjoyed that game, you have a good idea of what to expect.

Bayonetta Origins is a roguelite?

A prequel to the Bayonetta series titled Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon was announced and will release o the Nintendo Switch on March 17th.

One interesting thing to note is, the game appears to be more of a roguelite than the chaotic action game we’re used to seeing from the series, it could be an interesting take on the series.

Destiny 2 Lightfall release date announced

The next expansion for Destiny 2, Lightfall, will be released on February 28th, 2023.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League release date announced

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released on May 26th, 2023, and it has been announced that the game will be Kevin Conroy’s final voice role as Batman after he sadly passed away in October 2022.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor release date announced

It has been officially confirmed that Star Wars Jedi Survivor will be released on March 17th, 2023.

Earthblade

Earthblade is what you would get if Castlevania and Celeste had a child. It is an 8-bit hack-and-slash platformer that looks like it’ll be so much fun and perhaps one of the year’s best games.

Sadly, it isn’t releasing until 2024.

Dune Awakening

If you’re a fan of the Dune movie or book then this may pique your interest. Duke: Awakening is a new open-world MMO based on the franchise.

Forspoken demo available now

A new demo for Forspoken has been released ahead of the game’s launch on PS5 and PC.

It was also noted that the game won’t be coming to other platforms until at least January 23rd, 2025, meaning it could eventually see an Xbox release.

Death Stranding 2 announced

The next entry in Hideo Kojima’s latest franchise, Death Stranding 2, has been officially announced.

When it comes to realistic graphics, I think that Hideo Kojima may have just set a new standard; this game looks incredible.

Immortals of Aveum announced

It looks like EA can make good games when its not filling them full of microtransactions.

Immortals of Aveum launches in 2023.

Tekken 8 finally announced

It has been over seven years since Tekken 7 was released, and fans have been anxiously waiting for news of the next entry in the series.

Now, we have to wait no longer as Tekken 8 has been officially announced. Some gameplay was shown as it was as expected, Tekken but next-generation, and it looks awesome.

Nightingale

Nightingale is a first-person, PVE, open-world survival crafting game, and it definitely ticks a lot of boxes with us.

Baldur’s Gate

The Baldur’s Gate franchise is a classic, with the first game released back in 1998. The RPG series is making its way to the next generation, with the first new title since 2016.

Baldur’s Gate will be released in August 2023.

Wayfinder

Wayfinder is a brand new free-to-play online action RPG and it is set to be released next week on PC, PS4, and PS5.

Fire Emblem Engage Wave 1 DLC

Wave 1 of the DLC for Fire Emblem Engage is set to be released on January 20th, 2023, with three more sets of DLC releasing throughout 2023.

Including Wave 1 is:

  • Emblem Character – Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude
  • Emblem Character – Tiki
  • In-game support items
  • In-game accessories
  • Silver card

Diablo IV release date announced

It has been announced at The Game Awards that Diablo IV will be launching on June 6th, 2023.

Pre-ordering the game will grant you early to the beta.

Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores release date announced

The Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC will be released on April 19th, 2023.

Blue Protocol World announced

The Sci-Fi fantasy adventure developed by Bandai Namco Online and Amazon Games, Blue Protocol World, will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2023.

Remnant 2 announced

A trailer for Remnant 2 was shown at the game awards. It looks to be a fantasy action game that uses a combination of melee weapons, guns, and magic.

Play solo or co-op with two other friends to explore the depths of the unknown to stop an evil from destroying reality itself.

Transformers Reactivated announced

Transformers Reactivated was announced at The Game Awards. The trailer didn’t give much away as it was cinematic, but we’re hoping it will be good.

No release date was given.

Company of Heroes 3 Console Edition coming in 2023

Company of Heroes 3 will be receiving a console port in 2023, releasing on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

New Super Mario movie trailer revealed

A brand new trailer for the upcoming Super Mario movie was released at The Game Awards.

The more I see trailers for this movie the more I’m excited for it.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden announced

A brand new RPG called Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden was announced and is coming at the end of 2023.

Not much was revealed about the game, with most of the trailer being cinematic, but we did get a glimpse of gameplay at the end, and it looks like your typical over-the-shoulder third-person RPG, but that’s not always a bad thing.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 announced

The next entry in the Warhammer series has been announced. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be launching in 2023.

Meet Your Maker

Meet Your Maker is a post-apocalyptic first-person building-and-raiding game where every level is designed by players.

It is launching on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on April 4th, 2023.

Crash Team Rumble

Crash Team Rumble is a new 4v4 competitive entry in the Crash Bandicoot series.

Fans looking for a more traditional experience may not enjoy it, but it does have the potential to be a fun party game.

Crash Team Rumble will launch in 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

The Lords of the Fallen

The Lords of the Fallen is a new RPG adventure game that is said to be five times larger than the original game, with this being a sequel to the 2014 game of the same name.

No release date was given, but it will launch on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Crime Boss

Chuck Norris, Danny Trejo, and Michael Rooker star in Crime Boss, a new first-person shooter as you recruit crew members to become a crime boss in the underworld of 1990s Florida.

Crime Boss launches on March 28th, 2023.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Atomgrad Raid DLC announced

The first episode of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Atomgrad Raid DLC will begin on December 14th.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

The Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion has officially been announced and it will be released in 2023.

Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon announced

Armored Core 6 has officially been announced and is the next game by FromSoftware.

I was probably a teenager the last time I played an Armored Core game, so I’m really excited for this one.

Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon releases in 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Final Fantasy 16 release date announced

It has been a couple of years since Final Fantasy 16 was first announced and now we have an official release date.

Final Fantasy 16 will be released on June 22nd, 2023.
