Atlus has finally given a release date for Persona 5 Royal to be no longer a Sony exclusive. The upgraded version of their 2016 turn-based RPG is coming to PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, as has been previously announced during the Xbox Games Showcase. The stream also announced that Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden will get the same treatment.

Persona 5 was bound to be the first one released, as it’s currently the most popular of the series. Previously announced to be released this year, we now have an official release date: Persona 5 Royal is coming to all platforms on October 21.

The three games will also be available on Day One through the Xbox Game Pass, so PC players can also enjoy them right as they are released. All of the DLCs for Royal will also be included in all versions.

Persona 5 Royal on all platforms

The original Persona 5 was released back in 2016, while Royal debuted in 2020. The upgraded version contains exclusive dungeons, new main characters and Confidants introduced to the history, more DLCs, and more.

While it was exclusive to Playstation 3 and 4, the game quickly gained popularity thanks to its good combat system, immersive plot and likable characters. It was obvious that the game would be ported to other platforms in the future, even if its older brothers hadn’t received the same treatment.

And as the series had crossovers with a lot (and a mean A LOT) of different gacha games, the main character Joker appeared in Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Persona 5 Strikers was released for PC and the Nintendo Switch, it was just a matter of time until the full game would be treated the same.

Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden release dates

While the trailer showed some gameplay from other games in the series, there’s no official release date for them yet. All we know is that they’re being released next year, so we’ll have to wait some more.

Persona 3 Portable is the port of the original PS2 game for the PSP and has some changes to the overall gameplay as well as the option of playing as a female Protagonist. Persona 4 Golden is an upgraded version just like Royal originally released for the PS Vita, and it’s already available on Steam.

Persona 5 Royal will be available on October 21 for Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Y and PC through Steam and the Xbox Game Pass.
