The Assassin’s Creed franchise has long been one of Ubisoft’s flagship IPs, with the studio releasing yearly entries during its heyday. Now, the series is set to make a comeback as Ubisoft has officially announced Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

This will mark the first Assassin’s Creed game to be released since Valhalla was a launch title for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The Assassin’s Creed Twitter account posted the first teaser image for Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the announcement that Ubisoft will be holding a showcase event later this month.

It is hard to judge a game by a single image. Still, it appears that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will have an Arabian theme and look back to basics, with its main character looking similar in style to past characters such as Ezio.

This will be great news for many fans, as many have felt that the series has strayed too far away from its roots in recent times, especially with games such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, despite it being a good game in its own right. But, it will be great to see Ubisoft go back to the classic Assassin’s Creed 1 and 2 style of gameplay.

It was rumored in 2021 that the Assassin’s Creed series would be getting a live service game, which would update regularly with new content to compete with the likes of GTA Online and Fortnite.

Ubisoft will reveal more information about Assassin’s Creed Mirage during its Ubisoft Forward event on September 10th. As of right now, no release date for the game has been given, but we can assume it will be released in either 2023 or 2024.

The latest entry in the series, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S and served as a launch title for the next-gen systems.
