Fortnite v21.50 Patch Notes: Unvaulted weapons, Late Game Arena LTM, and Shadow of Phantasm Week

v21.50 patch notes update

Last Updated on: 30th August 2022, 01:07 pm

As players descend from the Battle Bus, they are in for a treat as the latest v21.50 patch notes are released. From a Late Game Arena LTM, unvaulted weapons, and the arrival of Shadow of Phantasm week, they are kicking off September with a bang!

The Dragon Ball Crossover event has now ended, which sees the somewhat overpowered Kamehameha and Nimbus Cloud exiting the game very soon (much to many players’ delight), as well as the vaulting of the Imposter Game Mode, with Epic stating they are shifting the team focus to other Fortnite Projects.

But what does Epic have in store for players as we approach the Fortnite end of Season Finale? Let’s take a look at the changes below.

The Shadow of Phantasm week enters gameplay from August 30, 2022, at 9:00 am ET until September 7, 2022, at 9:00 am ET.

The v21.50 patch notes have revealed players are to be given a series of new quests to earn that much-needed XP to complete the Battle Pass before the Season ends, as well as 4 unvaulted weapons being made available to players in supply drops, chests and as ground loot:

  • Suppressed Assault Rifle
  • Suppressed SMG
  • Shadow Bombs
  • Shield Bubbles

The unvaulting of these stealth-based weapons may hold a clue as to what challenges players will be able to complete in the coming weeks.

The Late Game Arena LTM brings a different Spin to the classic arena with the current v21.50 patch notes update.

Unlike the classic PVP 100 game, the LTM sees players entering gameplay with only 60 other players. Players will be given their weapons as they enter gameplay from a selection of classic in-game weapons.

Once players jump from the Battle Bus, they will then have 10 seconds to pick their location and then open their gliders (they can not be opened before this point). And with a faster descent to the island, players will have to think fast.

Storm Circles will also close quicker than usual, with players having just 20 seconds before the next location shows, and a further 40 seconds before the storm circle begins to close, making this game mode much more fast-paced than the already chaotic Arena Game Mode.

The following has been released by Epic following the release of the v21.50 patch notes:

Major Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue in which the Health and Shield bars would not correspond with the actual value remaining after taking damage.
  • Fixed an issue in which the Kamehameha would refill to three full charges when dropped by an eliminated player.
  • The “Dedicated Button” fire mode option on mobile is now working correctly. Unchecking the option will now automatically hide the dedicated fire button in-game if the context allows it.
    • If the equipped weapon/item doesn’t support the currently selected fire mode (for example a melee weapon can’t autofire), the dedicated fire button will still be displayed.
