Elden Ring Katana Weapon Guide: List, Stats, Skills, Locations

Weapons are offensive types of equipment that are used to inflict damage against Enemies and Bosses.  

There are a lot of weapon types. In this weapon guide, we are going to talk particularly about Katanas.  

Katanas specialize in mid-range combat and are capable of inflicting slash and thrust attacks. They also inflict the Hemorrhage Status Effect in many cases, which can deal significant damage. Many players choose this weapon type for its unique moveset.

Dragonscale Blade

The Dragonscale Blade is a good weapon for Slash and Pierce damage. It scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity.  

“A weapon made by sharpening a Gravel Stone scale, thought to be 

the source of ancient dragon immortality, into an unclouded 

blade. 

Alas, the Dragonkin Soldiers never attained immortality, and 

perished as decrepit, pale imitations of their skyborn kin.”

Skill Ice Lightning Sword – calls down a bolt of ice lightning that damages an enemy. 
Locations Dropped from Dragonkin Soldier in the Lake of Rot. 

Hand of Malenia 

The Hand of Malenia is a good weapon for Samurai Build and Bleed Builds. It causes blood loss buildup (50) and scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity.  

“Blade built into Malenia’s prosthetic arm. 

Through consecration it is resistant to rot. 

Malenia’s war prosthesis symbolized her victories. 

Some claim to have seen wings when the weapon was raised aloft; 

wings of fierce determination that have never known defeat.”

Skill Waterfowl Dance – perform a series of one-footed leaps in the manner of a waterfowl to unleash a swift yet graceful slashing combo.

Meteoric Ore Blade

 The Meteoric Ore Blade is a good weapon for dealing melee Slash and Pierce damage in combat. It causes blood loss buildup (50) and scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. 

“Katana forged from meteoric ore to dispatch lifeforms born of falling stars. 

Deals magic damage. 

The blade is weighty, known to deliver slashes of such ferocity that the impact is said to resemble the crash of a falling meteor.”

Skill Gravitas – casts a purple field around you that compresses on itself and pulls enemies within, dealing damage. 
Locations Found inside a chest at Caelid Waypoint Ruins, in a small room at the back of an underground hall filled with sarcophagi and Prawn Miner enemies. The entrance to the area is found in the northwest section of the ruins.

Moonveil

The Moonveil is a good weapon for dealing melee Slash and Pierce Damage in Combat. It causes blood loss buildup (50) and scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. 

“Katana forged of glintstone. 

Masterpiece of a Sellian swordsmith.  

Light enwreathes the blade when sheathed, explaining its Moonveil moniker.”

Skill Transient Moonlight – causes the wielder to sheathe Moonveil then follow up with either a normal or strong attack to draw the blade at great speed for an instant slash attack. Both attacks fire off a wave of light. 
Locations Dropped by Magma Wyrm found in Gael Tunnel – Caelid

Nagakiba

The Nagakiba is a good weapon for dealing an extra blood loss effect (45) on top of the initial Physical Damage this weapon causes. It scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity.  

“Katana with a ferociously long blade. 

Signature weapon of Yura, hunter of Bloody Fingers. 

Reminiscent of a reinforced spear, its imposing length can be put to good use with powerful thrusting attacks.”

Skill Piercing Fang – makes a powerful thrust that cannot be blocked. 
Locations Dropped by Bloody Finger Hunter Yura at the north of Murkwater Cave or in his camp near Seaside Ruins Site of Grace

Rivers of Blood

The Rivers of Blood is a good weapon for mid-range combat, and it is capable of inflicting both Slash and Pierce attacks. It causes blood loss buildup (30) and scales primarily with Strength, Dexterity, and Arcane.

“Weapon of Okina, swordsman from the Land of Reeds. 

A cursed weapon that has felled countless men. 

When Mohg, the Lord of Blood, first felt Okina’s sword, and madness, 

upon his flesh, he had a proposal, to offer Okina the life of a demon, whose thirst would never go unsated.”

Skill Corpse Piler – forms a blade of cursed blood for repeated, interweaving successive attacks. Follow up with an additional input for further successive attacks. 
Locations Dropped by Bloody Finger Okina who invades near the Church of Repose, found in the Eastern region of Mountaintops of the Giants

Serpentbone Blade 

The Serpentbone Blade is a good weapon for high Dexterity characters to engage in mid-range combat. It causes poison buildup (66) and is capable of inflicting both Slash and Pierce attacks. It scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity.  

“Sinister katana modeled after a serpent bone. 

The densely packed row of spines that jut away from the cutting edge are coated in a lethal poison.”

Skill Double Slash – performs a crossing slash attack from a low stance. Repeated inputs allow for up to two follow up attacks. 
Locations Given as a reward for completing the second letter quest in Volcano Manor

Uchigatana

The Uchigatana is a good weapon for Piercing and Slash Damage. It causes blood loss buildup (45) and scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity.  

“A katana with a long single-edged curved blade.  

A unique weapon wielded by the samurai from the Land of Reeds. 

The blade, with its undulating design, boasts extraordinary sharpness, and its slash attacks cause blood loss.”

Skill Unsheathe – Sheathe blade, holding it at the hip in a composed stance. Follow up with a normal or strong attack to perform a swift slash attack. 
Locations – Starting Equipment for the Samurai Class. – Found on a corpse hanging off a ledge in Deathtouched Catacombs.
