Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were announced last month as the 9th Generation games of the series. The games will adopt the open-world system introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which should be the new standard for the series.

With a region that seems to be based on Spain and the lovely new starters, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, fans are already looking forward to the new game.

Arceus received praise for its new mechanics, and another game based around them could be everything players have been asking Gamefreak for the last few years.

But something that let many players down during the Sword and Shield era, aside from the extra paid DLCs, was that the Pokédex was severely cut down.

It’s understandable that fitting 898 Pokémons on a single game would be hard, but it’s not like the Switch couldn’t handle it, right?

With Scarlet and Violet, the series should be close to hitting one thousand catchable monsters, so which Pokémon are already confirmed, aside from the three starters?

The list takes into account every Pokémon shown in the trailer, as well as their previous and next evolutions. No regional forms were revealed yet, but a future trailer should feature them, if there are any.
