Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake has been under a lot of flak since its announcement and initial footage was shown – mainly because it looked pretty bad for a game being made in this day and age. You can’t even argue the retro-style enhancements that the GTA Trilogy have going on, either. It just looked shoddy, really.

Thankfully, Ubisoft has updated fans on the progress of development and what’s going on with their updated version of Prince of Persia Sands of Time. Here’s what we know…

Prince of Persia remake update

As you can see in the Tweet below, the Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake is… Still being remade.

Ubisoft’s statement says the following:

” Hello Prince of Persia fans!

” We want to take a moment to reassure you that the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is still underway, motivated and inspired by your feedback.

” We will update you on our progress in the future and want to thank all of you for your unwavering support and patience.

” The Dev Team.”

The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake was announced in September 2020 and has since been pushed back from its initial January 2021 release date, its March 2021 release date, and then has been placed in limbo with “later date” as the only update we have. As you can see from the imagery below, it doesn’t look amazing for a game being made in 2020.

We just hope all this extra time is worth it. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is easily one of the better action-adventure platformers to come out of the early 2000s.
