Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad game could be one of the best DC games of all time if it lives up to the hype – we can’t wait to dive into a whacky adventure with a handful of DC’s villains. The only trouble is, we don’t know what release date Rocksteady have set for their new Suicide Squad game! Well, until now… DC FanDome giveth – here’s what we know.

Suicide Squad game release date

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League – or SSKTLJ to save on words – is going to release on next-gen consoles and PC sometime in 2022! While not an exact release date, 2022 seems to be the closest we’re getting to an exact release for now.

Unlike Gotham Knights, this will be a continuation of the Batman Arkham series’ narrative and be the first game to not feature Batman as a playable protagonist. Instead, you’re going to be taking control of King Shark, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot as they team up to tackle Brainiac and his brainwashed Justice League.

Yeah, it’s that crazy. Seems like the perfect group of reprobates to tackle this sort of problem, though. Right?

Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad game is going to feature an open world Metropolis, not Gotham City, and a four-player co-operative multiplayer. This, for some reason, is something it looks like Gotham Knights’ developers – WB Games – has decided against. With this in mind, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League might be a bit more arcadey in how it plays. We just hope it’s better than Marvel’s Avengers – gameplay-wise, anyway.

If you’re playing Solo, you can switch between the Suicide Squad at will – who will be controlled by AI – so you’re never going to be alone in your fight. Expect this to be as bloody as it is brilliant.
