Who among these was truly deceived is one of the many new puzzles added in Genshin Impact 2.8s return to the Golden Apple Archipelago, here’s the solution to it.

The solution to the talking Raven puzzle ‘Who among these was truly deceived’ is the raven under the name Treasure Hoarder Quack. This raven is one of the red Scarves, and can be found between another red scarf raven and a blue scarf when the little play they conduct ends.

He can be a bit difficult to select as the selection menu will vary based on where you stand, and will almost always include at least one other possible target while standing close to him. The best way to minimize the risk of selecting the wrong raven accidentally – and thus having to listen again in full – is to stand as close to him as you can, then select the top dialogue option.

Selecting him after the talking concludes will resolve the who among these was truly deceived puzzle and unlock the nearby treasure chest.

If you’re wondering how this works out – don’t worry, some of these Raven puzzles are a bit on the confusing side – it comes down to the fact that this character tries to hand off the goods to the raven in blue, but this was already planned for by the partner he is supposedly shown betraying in this scene.

When he then tries to perform the hand-off, this confirms the suspicion of his partner, and the Blue scarf refuses to deal with him. In other words, he just exposed his own guilt for no gain, having been deceived and answering the puzzle in the process.

You can find the puzzle at the area shown above, though do note it’s on one of the local castle sections, so quite high up.

When performing these puzzles in the future, be aware; Blue Scarf ravens are always telling the truth in their statements. By contrast, red scarves can tell the truth, but also might be, and often are, lying.

Bear this in mind for future puzzles, or you might have to watch the second take of these plays put on by the Night Ravens more often than you like.
