The Challenge of the Starry Sky is one of the first major obstacles during Mona’s Mirage in the Summer Fantasia patch of Genshin Impact, here’s what you need to do.

How to beat the Challenge of the Starry Sky

The Challenge of the Starry Sky is not particularly well explained in Genshin Impact. Your objectives show a timer and the number of hits taken. The timer is typically used in Genshin when something must be completed within a time limit, so this may lead you to conclude that you must reach 30 hits taken.

This is not the case, the Challenge of the Starry Sky in Genshin Impact is actually a bullet-hell challenge where the goal is simply to not get hit, or at least avoid being hit 30 times in total, during the 1 minute-long timer.

Waves of projectiles will appear from all angles of the screen over time, though with a hit total of up to 30 available it should only take a few tries to succeed in the Challenge of the Starry Sky. As long as you evade the large clusters of bullets shown in one of the images below, it’s fairly difficult to fail if you’re not trying to do so.

With the objectives presented as they are though, it’s quite easy to misread it as catching 30 projectiles within that time limit. These do seem to be small star-like objects too. Mona catching these, perhaps for divination purposes would make a level of sense.

It’s just not what’s going on here, at all.

If you’re struggling, try sticking to where you start the challenge and only make very minor adjustments to avoid things that would hit you if you stood still. Quite often in bullet hell games and game modes, defeat comes much quicker if the player panicks due to the sheer number of projectiles there are, rather than which of them are valid threats to you.

In any case, that’s how you can beat the Challenge of the Starry Sky and continue on the path to helping Mona during 2.8 of Genshin Impact – don’t worry if you fail it, you can keep trying till you get it.
