Solar Pearl is a 4-star catalyst in Genshin Impact. It is part of the Kunwu series of weapons, which are weapons created by the master bladesmith Kunwu. It is also part of the Gnostic Hymn series of weapons, those that can be obtained from the game’s Gnostic Hymn Battle Pass.

Where to get Solar Pearl
This 4-star catalyst can only be obtained from the BP Bounty or the item exclusive to players who purchased the Gnostic Hymn or Chorus Battle Pass packages. Specifically, it can be obtained as one of the options upon reaching Lvl 30 on the said Battle Pass.

Solar Pearl Effects
This catalyst’s passive skill is called Solar Shine:
Normal Attack hits increase Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 20% for 6s. Likewise, Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst hits increase Normal Attack DMG by 20% for 6s.

Recommended Characters
Considering Solar Pearl’s CRIT Rate bonus stat and DMG bonus for your character’s Normal ATK, Skill, and Burst, this catalyst is designed for Main DPS characters. It can also work for off-field Sub-DPS characters. However, its mechanic for increasing your character’s DMG bonus requires a little more field time.
Solar Pearl’s passive skill will increase your character’s Elemental Skill and Burst only if their Normal ATKs hit enemies. On the other hand, your character’s Normal ATK DMG will be increased only when the character’s Skill or Burst hits enemies.
Therefore, to maximize the potential of Solar Pearl, you will need the wielding character to take most of the field time. If an off-field Sub-DPS equip it, that character needs to at least hit an enemy with a Normal ATK before using an Elemental Skill or Burst.
With this in mind, this catalyst works very well for characters like Klee, Ningguang, Heizou, and Yanfei, as they are conventionally used as DPS characters.
Off-field Sub-DPS characters who can benefit from this weapon include Mona and Yae Miko. Remember that you need to use a Normal ATK before using their Elemental Skill or Burst to trigger the DMG bonus from this weapon’s passive skill.
Lastly, while Kokomi can be a Main DPS, take note that this weapon is NOT recommended for her. Kokomi doesn’t benefit from this weapon’s CRIT Rate bonus as she is designed to not deal CRIT DMG. Therefore, she’s better off with other weapons like the 4-star Prototype Amber and her signature weapon, the 5-star Everlasting Moonglow.
