How to destroy the Chasm’s Bedrock keys in Genshin Impact

The latest addition to Genshin Impact, the Chasm, features large Bedrock keys that you must destroy to progress. Here’s how to crack them open.

How to destroy Bedrock keys in the Chasm

To destroy a bedrock key, you’ll need to use the nearby “cage-shaped object” present at all of them. These devices must first be charged by breaking a Geo infused rock, and then when charged, struck in the direction of the bedrock key to fire at it, if you hit, it’ll take damage. Repeat this a few times, and it’ll break.

So let’s break that process down into steps. First of all, near each bedrock key, you’ll find these Geo infused rocks. When broken, you’ll notice a small star shape – quite similar to the Primogem icon, but geo-coloured, – floating around you.

With that nearby, you must take it to one of the cage shaped objects surrounding the bedrock key to prepare it. You don’t need to worry about wasting them after it, once the cage shaped objects are charged, they’re always ready – you just need to deliver that geo infusion before it times out.

When you’ve done that, if you strike the object, it’ll fire a bolt out. If this bolt connects with the bedrock key, you’ll damage it, and it’ll lower itself towards the ground.

As shown below, however, it’s entirely possible to miss the bedrock key. These objects do have fairly generous tracking, but you still need to be facing the correct way when you hit them, and you need to be on the correct elevation.

In this example, the cage shaped object used is simply too low to hit the bedrock key at this stage, so the other objects must be used first to lower it down before this one is of any use.

Finding the rest of the objects used to damage the bedrock key is fortunately enough an easy process. Just follow the golden trails from the bedrock key, and it’ll lead you to one of the cage shaped objects. Following that, you just need to empower them and hit them at the correct angle to damage and ultimately destroy a bedrock key.
