Genshin Impact receives extra anniversary rewards after fans outrage

After a long week of drama, Genshin Impact players finally saw their voices being heard. Without any kind of official statement, miHoYo started to distribute extra anniversary rewards for players via in-game email.
The rewards for the first day include 400 Primogems and the Wings of Shimmery Galaxy glider. This is only the beginning, as the email included “1/4″ in its title and it also explicitly says that more rewards will be distributed until October 3.
Why are we receiving those extra anniversary rewards?

After the whole anniversary fiasco, players started to bug miHoYo to the next level. They started to review bomb the game on the Play Store, and its score started to massively drop. At one point, the score was 1.9, down from the original 4.6, more accurate numbers.
The situation was so big that even other games, like Genshin’s older brother Honkai Impact 3rd, started to get bad reviews. But even games that had nothing to do, such as Clash of Clans and Arknights also started to get bad reviews mentioning Genshin Impact’s anniversary.
As a desperate countermeasure, miHoYo finally surrendered to the pressure and decided to give us extra anniversary rewards. The rewards are being distributed on the Chinese servers first, while Global will receive them a few hours later, before the daily reset.
The first prize, the Wings of Shimmery Galaxy, was previously an exclusive glider intended to be sold through the Boundless Symphony bundle, an exclusive package created to celebrate the Genshin Impact Concert. Its original price was $30, but now we’ll probably not be seeing it in the store so soon.
From this, we may expect that the other bundle items, such as the exclusive name card and furniture will also be distributed as part of our extra anniversary rewards. There’s still space for a surprise gift as another way for apologizing, but let’s not create any expectations.
We can be sure that those rewards were a last-minute decision, and not planned in any way. If players hadn’t raised their voices in discontentment, those prizes would never have been distributed. Hopefully, miHoYo will learn from this situation, and start to communicate better with its player base.

Genshin Impact is currently on the 2.1 version, “Floating World Under the Moonlight”, featuring the conclusion of the Archon Quests in Inazuma, a new Weekly Boss, 2 new World Bosses, new characters, and two new areas for exploration.
You can play the game for free on mobile devices including Android, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and Pc on both miHoYo’s official launcher and Epic Games Store. A Nintendo Switch version is stated to be in development.
