Genshin Impact: How to repair the game files on PC?

Sometimes games surprise us with random crashes and unexplained issues, but players of Genshin Impact can easily repair the game files.

Compared to the majority of recent games, Genshin Impact has a relatively streamlined game file repair process too, so even if your issues aren’t the most critical things such as hard crashes it might be worth running the repair every once in a while.

How to repair Genshin Impact game files

Repairing the game files is, fortunately enough, quite an easy process, and surprisingly fast too – though that may be attributed to the relatively small size of the game compared to most others in recent times.

Regardless, the option to repair game files is hidden away under a small settings cogwheel icon in the top right corner of the Genshin Impact launcher. It’s located next to the button used to minimize the game client.

Simply press this cogwheel icon to open the settings menu, and then scroll down until you find the Repair Game Files button shown below, and hit that. The game client will take it from there and begin the process for you.

The client runs through about 5 steps in total, with the first two seeming to be the slowest. Of course your experience may vary depending on your system hardware and the state of your Genshin Impact installation.

That said, this verification/repair process was one of, if not the fastest I’ve encountered in a game before, so you perhaps don’t need to be as cautious with starting the repair process as you might be with other games.

The full process took about 15 minutes for me, as a guideline for what to expect.
