The Special Program Live for the 2.6 patch of Genshin Impact has just aired, giving us some long-awaited information on the new area, The Chasm, and the new 5-star Hydro character Kamisato Ayato in the “Zephyr of the Violent Garden” update.

In the western region of Liyue, we’ll meet new enemies, new Domains, more artifact sets, and a whole new area for you to explore. The area will have its new story, Requiem of the Echoing Depths, which will mark the return of Dainsleif.

Genshin Patch 2.6 release date

The release date for the Genshin Impact 2.6 update is March 29, right after the end of the Raiden/Kokomi banner. The new region will be immediately available, as well as the new world and Story quests.

2.6 Banners information

Familiar faces are also back in town, as Venti and Ayaka will have their reruns in this version. Venti will be featured in the first half of the update alongside Ayato. Ayaka on the other hand will be the sole banner for the rest of the version. Sorry, Kazuha wanters, you’ll have to wait a little bit more.

For weapons, we know that Haran Genpakku Futsu, Ayato’s signature weapon, will be featured in the first banner, and according to leaks, the Elegy of the End will accompany it. For the second half, we can expect the Mistsplitter Reforged to make a comeback.

Nothing was given about any of the 4-stars, being it weapons or characters, but we’ll soon learn about that when Hoyoverse drops the banners in a few days.

New Story Quests and areas

Ayato will receive his own story quest, in which he and the Traveler will meet for the first time. Considering he’ll be the main part of the events for the version (which we’ll talk about later), it’ll probably be a requirement for them.

The Chasm will be finally available for exploration, and we’ll meet Dainsleif there in the next Archon Quest, who according to the life, will tell us more about Khaenri’ah and the Abyss.

The new area will also bring new Ruin enemies, as it was shown in the previous Special Program, and will introduce the Vermillion Hereafter set, made especially for Xiao, and the Echoes of an Offering, dedicated to Ayato.

It will also feature its own “tree” in the Lumenstone Adjuvant, and enhancing it with the Lumenspars found around the area will grant you a bonus while exploring the area, similar to the Sacred Sakura in Inazuma. You also get prizes such as Weapon billets and Primogems.

New and returning events

The main event in this version is Hues of the Violent Garden, in which characters from Mondstadt and Liyue will visit Inazuma since the Sakoku Decree is finally over. Alongside usual prizes such as a Crown of Insight, Mora, and Exp, you can get a free copy of Xingqiu.

Theater Mechanicus is here for the third time, and it will feature new mechanics such as enhancements you can select before entering a stage and new turrets for you to use.

The new Clash of the Lone Blades will be a Traveler-only event in which you’ll have 1v1 fights with swordmasters around Inazuma. The mechanics are similar to the Beidou tournament in the Interlude Chapter (AKA Kazuha’s story quest), but you’ll have access to a Parry mechanic, which should make things interesting.

Other new events such as The Spices from the West, Vibro-Crystal Research, and Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens will also be present, each one with its own special mechanics.
