Genshin Impact: What boss do you need to farm for Faruzan Materials?

Faruzan, a new 4* Anemo bow support character, has arrived in Genshin Impact. Therefore it’s time to ask, what boss do you now need to farm for Faruzan Materials?

Boss-dropped ascension materials are essential for every character in Genshin Impact to be viable at higher-level gameplay. Faruzan is no exception to this rule.

Ascension materials for Faruzan are dropped by the Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network, – which we’ll be shortening to ASIMON, or Matrix for the rest of this article for fairly obvious reasons. ASIMON is located in the Sumeru desert region.

Fighting ASIMON for Faruzan Materials

Faruzan uses light guiding tetrahedron as part of her Ascension material requirements. Light guiding tetrahedrons are the unique drop of the world boss, the Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network – ASIMON. As such, levelling and ascending the new Anemo support Faruzan will include mandatory farming of the Matrix, and there’s simply no way around that.

Fortunately, these Faruzan materials shouldn’t be too hard to obtain. Like most other world bosses, ASIMON is not particularly difficult unless you’re underlevelled for your current world level.

Much like the primal construct enemies in the great red sand Sumeru desert region, this boss will drop some highlighted areas before certain attacks. It’s a good idea to get out of the zone it draws if you’d like to collect your Faruzan materials while still in one piece.

As for finding the boss, it is similarly simple. In the desert region of Sumeru, ASIMON can be found inside one of the smaller pyramids. There are no particular requirements for entry beyond being able to reach it in the first place; and there is a teleport waypoint directly outside the pyramid, making return farming trips simple.

Be aware that the boss may not seem to be inside at a glance. It is, it merely starts in a cloaked state. Players of game series such as Halo may recognise this as a sort of active camouflage effect nigh-immediately and spot the boss quite easily. Approach and it will quickly reveal itself to begin attacking.

If you’re overlevelled, this is probably all you’ll need to know, ASIMON isn’t particularly tough in general, so you’ll find it fairly simple to claim your Faruzan materials from this world boss.

If you’re less confident and you’d like some quick tips though, I can offer a few notes in advance for you.

At some stage during the fight, the matrix world boss ASIMON will separate into a number of potential parts. Each of them may act differently in this phase, but the phase changes when you destroy a single part. Focus on rushing one down.

After destroying one of the parts, the Matrix will be forced into a recovery state where it poses no threat to you and will focus on part repair, which will reveal it from its invisible state. You can hit it with Electro damage during this stage to paralyse ASIMON entirely.

If you can find the Matrix while it’s invisible during the separated parts phase, electro will also paralyse it then without smashing one of the seperated parts. ASIMON will become Dendro-infused while paralysed, making it an excellent time to inflict Dendro-based reactions for huge damage to speed up your gathering of Faruzan materials.
