Genshin Impact: What boss do you need to farm for Nahida materials?

Nahida ascension materials genshin impact 3.2

Nahida, also known as Lesser Lord Kusanali, the Dendro Archon, has arrived in Genshin Impact. Naturally this means its time to find out which boss will drop Nahida materials?

Boss-dropped ascension materials are essential for every character in Genshin Impact to be viable at higher level gameplay. Nahida, Dendro Archon or not, is no exception to that rule.

Ascension materials for Nahida are dropped by the newly added world boss in version 3.2, the Dendro Hypostasis.

What is Nahida’s boss Ascension Material?

Nahida uses Quelled Creepers as part of her Ascension material requirements. Quelled Creepers are the unique drop of the new world boss, the Dendro Hypostasis. As such, levelling and ascending the little Lesser Lord Kusanali will include mandatory farming of the Dendro Hypostasis, and there’s simply no way around that.

These Nahida materials shouldn’t be too hard to obtain, as the boss itself should be pretty easy as long as you’re not under levelled for it. The only significant difficulty is that you will need to take a Dendro character to defeat the boss due to the Hypostasis revival mechanic it employs.

Finding the Dendro Hypostasis is relatively easy, it’s located close to a teleport beacon, found in the southern region of the Sumeru desert area known as Land of Lower Setekh. This area was added in Genshin Impact during the previous version, 3.1 – if you haven’t been active lately, this may mean that you don’t have it fully explored just yet.

Fighting the Dendro Hypostasis for Nahida Materials

The Dendro Hypostasis isn’t that complex a boss fight, much like other Hypostasis in Genshin Impact. They typically have or two mechanics of note, but otherwise are quite simple.

The boss fight is mostly evading area of effect attacks by the Hypostasis, and then taking advantage of brief windows of vulnerability to deal damage. Only one particular attack stands out from this pattern. The boss moves to the middle of the arena and summons a ring of roots that gradually close in on it at the edges. It is vulnerable during this time, and it only occurs when it has already lost some health.

If you have the damage for it, you can use this attack to burst the Hypostasis down and prevent the attack from completing. Otherwise, you’ll want to deal what damage you can, then escape from the closing ring of roots – there will be a single portion of it missing, allowing you to walk out. When the roots meet the Hypostasis, it will unleash a powerful area of effect explosion, dealing considerable damage if you’re still in range.

After dealing with that, as with other Hypostasis bosses, there is also a revive mechanic to be aware of before you fight it for the first time.

The Hypostasis will regain a considerable amount of health when first defeated if you do not interrupt the process. It will spawn three total plants around itself, which must be empowered with the Dendro element to cause them to fill a secondary bar below the primary boss health bar.

Each plant empowered by Dendro will contribute to filling the bar up during this phase. Using Electro on the plants to activate them after they have been hit by Dendro will increase the speed they can fill up the bar. The boss is inactive during this phase, so using a low level Dendro Traveler or Collei is a simple way to get all the plants empowered quickly if you haven’t obtained other Dendro characters yet.

That should be everything you need to defeat the Dendro Hypostasis on your first try. Good luck with farming for those Nahida materials in Genshin Impact 3.2
