It’s arrived! Today players can jump into Lego Fortnite following the latest update.

Everyone young and old knows Lego. The building blocks are a great way to unleash your creativity. And now the worlds have collided as Lego joins Fortnite.

But what is the game about? How do we play? And who exactly is this game aimed at? Let’s take a look as we explore Lego Fortnite on its release date.

Lego Fortnite – How to begin

As with anything new, when you first load in, you’ll be greeted with a trailer showing the features of the all-new Lego Fortnite. The trailer doesn’t give a great deal away as to how the game mode works, but it certainly makes it seem exciting.

Next, you need to select your character – Note that at present, not all skins in your locker are available as Lego character styles, and more should become available as time progresses.

Then you are taken to a Create New World option – and this is where the fun begins.

Think Minecraft – sorry Fortnite – where you can select survival mode, in which you are on a quest of building, gathering, and crafting – but also facing some mighty enemies. Or Sandbox mode – a mode in which you already begin with everything you need.

You can select if you wish to have enemies in your world, will your character be hungry, the temperature of the world, whether will you lose items on elimination, and even villagers who are part of your island (sound familiar) and many more features that you can personalize to your gameplay.

Once your personalized world is created, you load into your world. And this is where the fun begins. The weather even goes through cycles with realistic sound effects which are pretty cool!

Lego Fortnite – a vast landscape

Your world is, well, massive! I couldn’t find an end to the map whilst running around.

As you move, you can destroy items, collect crafting materials and foods, as well as defeating creatures to collect items. Once you have specific items, you can craft from a menu of pre-prepared items to create a vast array of goodies.

It’s also worth noting, that rolling a bolder damages everything in its path and makes it easy to mass-collect items as well as destroying the wolves, chickens, and spiders you will find everywhere.

With so many items available, we will be sure to create content for our readers to show what you need to craft which items – so which this space!

Grow your vegetables, play with sheep, and enjoy food around a campfire as you collect materials to craft your world.

Lego Fortnite – who is the target audience?

Is this an adult game? I’m yet to decide. If you’re into the likes of Minecraft, this game is certainly for you, however, if you’re after the fast-paced Battle Royale style gameplay, head back to the modes we know and love best.

From the gameplay so far, and this is only Day 1, Lego Fortnite offers a rather relaxed pace. Once you create your world, and expand by building and exploring the different levels it has to offer, judging by the trailer, the gameplay will certainly become interesting.

It can’t be denied, it’s great to have something new head into Fortnite! As we continue into this week, we also welcome the arrival of two new game modes in the style of Rocket League and Guitar Hero – they are catering to everyone at Epic as we enter Chapter 5 Season 1 – and we love it!

Fortnite Chapter 5 launched on December 3, 2023, including a brand new map and new mechanics, following the incredibly popular return to the OG Island in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5.
