Fortnite spin-off game coming in Chapter 3?

Fortnite Chapter 3 is almost here, with Chapter 2 Season 8 serving as the end of the current chapter before players get taken to a new map following the conclusion of the Season 8 event which will lead to a black hole type event.

Although many details of Chapter 3 have yet to be revealed, many leaks have pointed to what players can expect from Fortnite over the coming months.

One of these includes a Fortnite spin-off game which will see the Fortnite IP be used for a new style of gameplay outside of the typical battle royale genre that the game is best known for.

Earlier this year a survival mode was added to the game for a short time, which saw players wake up washed upon the shores of the Fortnite island tasked with finding items across the map to rebuild a Choppa to escape.

The mode was incredibly fun and showed that the Fortnite IP and lore could be molded into another genre.

It is unclear whether Epic Games will go for a survival-style game, an MMORPG would work incredibly well too.

The game’s Creative mode has seen players create maps and modes across many different genres so the possibilities really are endless.

Until Epic Games officially announces it this is all speculation, but this is something that I have predicted would happen since early 2020 and it makes sense, Epic Games has shown that the story works in other mediums such as comics, so a new genre of game would work too.

Other leaks that we can expect in Fortnite Chapter 3 include the game moving to Unreal Engine 5, which will also introduce the new Creative 2.0 that will allow mod support to come to the game.

Collaborations look to be a big part of Fortnite still, with a Boba Fett skin set to come to the game next month, as well as leaks suggesting that Matrix characters and Spider-Man will be releasing in the near future.
