Fortnite removes building from main mode but not for good

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 Dr. Strange

Last Updated on: 9th April 2022, 05:32 pm

Filled with new skins such as Marvel’s Doctor Strange, Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 is finally out on all platforms.

But perhaps the most noticeable change for this season is found right when you open the game. With a new loading screen for the season that says, “All Battle, No Building,” most players’ gameplay will definitely have to change.

The loading screen further reads:

“Building has been wiped out. It’s up to the Resistance to get it back. Jump in with your squad and help The Seven uncover the Imagined Orders nefarious plan.”

Although some players find this disappointing, this change has also been welcomed by other as the game has been criticized for not focusing on gunplay, with some encounters even becoming a race of who can build structures faster.

When is Building Expected to Return

While the Fortnite community is divided regarding this change, it’s important to note that the removal of the building mechanic may not be permanent.

In a tweet, Hypex, a well-known Fortnite leaker, says, “BUILDING IS GONE FOR A WEEK!”

Moreover, other leakers claim it will be nine days. Considering that the 20.10 patch, the first update of the new season, is scheduled nine days from the season’s initial release, the rumors make sense, and players may get to play building again on Tuesday, March 29.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
