While the Letter from the Producer LIVE, streamed back on September 18th, gave us a ton of info about all the Jobs in FFXIV, other bits of useful info were scattered about as well. One such hidden gem was a nugget about FFXIV DC Travel, something which has gone relatively unaddressed since the explosion in popularity of the MMO. As confirmed in the Live Letter, FFXIV DC Transfer is slated for after 6.0, the release of Endwalker!

Thankfully, with the little snippet below, we can make some further inferences about the implementation of DC Travel. As we know, the plan was to implement the feature before, sometime around Patch 5.55 or 5.58, though the influx of new and returning players alike in droves ended up proving a serious strain on the servers. As such, the dev team acknowledged there would be delays, but said little else.

We can assume that DC Travel will come out between 6.0 and 6.1, as the slide would have otherwise said 6.1 itself. The most likely days would be the two patches in the month following Endwalker, that which adds the normal raid tier, or that of a similar update 2 weeks later adding the savage raid tier.

Those two are the most prominent updates between X.0 and X.1, so the most likely days for DC Travel to be implemented as well. I doubt they would test out this new feature on the day of the Savage release either, as the day is sure to be plagued with some issues or other, and the world’s first race is huge for FFXIV on streaming platforms.

As such, I think the most likely date for FFXIV DC Travel is December 7th, the most likely date for the normal raid tier dropping. Note that this isn’t definitive, but either the 7th or 21st would be my bets for the exact DC Travel release!
