Destiny 2 is currently kicking off its 18th Season on August 23, 2022, featuring big reworks to the Arc Powerset, with the 3.0 rework inspired by non-other than the 2009 film, Crank 2, with the developers hoping to turn players into a cranked-up Jason Statham!

The film sees Statham’s heart replaced with a battery, that can only be charged by electrocuting himself in some weird, wonderful, and rather violent measures.

The Destiny designer Sam Dunn is quoted as saying: “Arc is really just, ‘go fast and hit stuff. We call it the ‘hold W’ subclass. Everything is built around moving forward and enabling aggression and those abilities.”

It’s easy to see how Destiny took its inspiration from The Crank!
