Do You Need PS Plus To Play Warzone?

Call of Duty Warzone is a hit, free-to-play title, but do you need an active PS Plus subscription to play it?

Attention might have shifted towards Treyarch’s Black Ops Cold War, but Warzone still remains a strong title. With Raven Software at the helm, fans are still getting continuous updates and improvements to their beloved Battle Royale.

If you’re wanting to get involved, though, you might be wondering whether you can play Warzone without a PS Plus subscription?

Do You Need PS Plus?

To put it plainly, you do not need an active PS Plus account to play Warzone!

It’s a valid question. As an online-only title, you might expect that you need PS Plus?

Well, because Warzone is technically it’s own free-to-play title, you do not. Sony are making sure free-to-play titles remain free-to-play on their platform.

To put this into perspective, say… If you wanted to play a TDM on Black Ops Cold War, you’d need PS Plus. However, if you then wanted to jump into a Warzone match via the three-pillar menu that links the three games, you wouldn’t!

You Need An Account Though

Even though you don’t need to be paying for PS Plus, you will need a PlayStation Network account.

Not only does this allow you to add the game to your library and download it to your console, it also helps to save any progress you make!

Thankfully, PlayStation usually prompts you to add/create a PSN account when you first get your PlayStation.
