Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 release date and trailer revealed

It is almost that time again, a new Call of Duty game is on the horizon and this time it will be Modern Warfare 2, a continuation of the 2019 reboot of the series.
Previously we saw the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard in late 2021 and Black Ops Cold War in 2019, so we’re certainly due a new entry from Infinity Ward, and now Activision has surprised us all with a brand new trailer and official release date for Modern Warfare 2.
In a tweet, Activision has confirmed the official release date for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, as well as give us a first look at the game with a brand new trailer.
In the trailer, we see a ship pass underneath a bridge with it being painted with a Modern Warfare 2 decal, as well as hearing the voices of Price, Gaz, Soap, Roach, and others over the footage.
The camera pans through a shipping yard with plenty of containers, which will likely be one of the multiplayer maps in the game.
One thing to note is that at the beginning of the trailer it states that the location is at the Port of Long Beach, which confirms that at least some of the game will take place in the United States.
It has also been rumored that the game could take place in Singapore, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
In terms of gameplay, Activision didn’t reveal anything, but we can expect to find out more as we head towards the Alpha and Beta that will take place in the coming months.
We can now confirm that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be released worldwide on October 28th, 2022.

As of right now, no information has been given regarding which platforms the game will be available on, but it is extremely likely that it will release on PC via Battle.net, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
