Nintendo Direct September 2021: Everything that was announced and revealed

The latest Nintendo Direct has just taken place, giving gamers a look at what to expect over the rest of the year as well as what is coming throughout 2022.
Many exciting games were announced during the Nintendo Direct, as well as some new DLC, and features coming to Nintendo Switch Online that we’re really excited about.
Here is everything that was announced and revealed during the Nintendo Direct.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Expansion Announced
A new expansion was announced for Monster Hunter Rise to kick off the show, with the expansion being called Sunbreak.
Players can expect it to land during Summer 2022, check out the trailer below.
Three More Boards Revealed For Mario Party Superstars
Three new boards were revealed for Mario Party Superstars, with the game launching on October 29th.
Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity DLC Wave 2
The second wave of DLC for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will also launch on October 29th.
The Guardian of Remembrance DLC will include,
- New Story – Battle for Kakariko Village, Battle of Goponga Village, and more.
- New Stages – Coliseum, and more
- Newly added playable character – Purah and Robbie, and one more.
- Added actions for existing characters.
Chocobo GP
A Final Fantasy-themed Mario Kart-style game called Chocobo GP has been announced, featuring iconic characters such as Vivi.
Players will be able to race in legendary settings such as the Gold Saucer when the game launches on the Nintendo Switch in 2022.
Final Super Smash Bros Ultimate Fighter Reveal Date
The final Super Smash Bros Ultimate fighter will be revealed next month. It was announced during the Direct that Sakurai will reveal the fighter on October 5th.
Fans will be able to tune in at 7 am PT/10 am EST/3 pm BST for a special reveal and character walkthrough.

Kirby And The Forgotten Land Announced
A brand new 3D Kirby game was announced titled “Kirby and the Forgotten Land” during the Nintendo Direct. The game will be launching in Spring 2022.

Animal Crossing Direct Coming Next Month
It has been a while since we heard new news regarding Animal Crossing: New Horizons. But, players don’t have long to wait as a special Animal Crossing Direct will be coming in October.
Knights Of The Old Republic Coming To Switch
Recently, a KOTOR Remake was announced for PS5 and PC. But, while you wait it is the perfect opportunity to revisit the original game, and you will be able to do so on the Nintendo Switch when the classic 2003 game comes to the console on November 11th.
Dying Light 2 Cloud Version Coming To Switch On Day 1
Dying Light 2 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch alongside consoles and PC on launch day, February 4th 2022, but will be playable via the cloud, meaning players will need to stream the game as they play.
On October 19th players will be able to jump into Dying Light on the Switch with the Platinum Edition, which won’t require the cloud.
N64 And Genesis Games Coming To Nintendo Switch Online
After months, or even years, of rumors, it has been officially announced that N64 games will be coming to Nintendo Switch Online.
But, not just N64 games, SEGA Genesis games will be making their way to the service too.
Starting next month, players will be able to play Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, Yoshi’s Story, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Winback, Mario Tennis, and Dr. Mario 64 as part of their subscription.
Numerous Genesis games will also be available too, including Ecco The Dolphin, Golden Axe, Sonic 2, and Streets Of Rage 2.
Future titles that will be coming to the service include The Legend Of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, F-Zero X, Mario Golf, Pokemon Snap, Kirby 64, Paper Mario, Banjo-Kazooie.
It is expected that the cost of the service will increase for players that want to play these titles, but more details will be shared closer to the time of their release.
Wireless N64 And Genesis Controllers For The Switch
In order to play these games the way they were meant to be played, Nintendo will be releasing wireless N64 and Genesis controllers for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.
These will cost $49.99 each.
Super Mario Movie Coming Holiday 2022
It was announced that the animated Super Mario movie will be coming to theaters at the end of 2022, with the North American release date confirmed to be December 21st, 2022.
