Fortnite: Combat Assault Rifle vs MK-Seven, which should you vote for?

The voting and funding system has returned to Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 and so far has brought the Armored Battle Bus to the game, marking the first time that the Battle Bus has been a driveable vehicle in Fortnite. Next up is a vote between the Combat Assault Rifle and the MK-Seven.

The Combat Assault Rifle was introduced to Fortnite in Chapter 2 Season 8 as part of a voting system in that season, with it being paired up against the Combat SMG, a weapon that is now part of the Fortnite Season 2 loot pool.

Next season the MK-Seven Assault Rifle was added to Fortnite as part of the overhauled Chapter 3 loot pool, with the weapon being a red dot ADS weapon for pinpoint accuracy.

From April 4, 2022 players will be able to vote for which weapon they want to see added to the game, with the one that is funded quickest being brought back into the loot pool.

But, before that happens players will be able to check out and use both weapons from April 2nd to 4th to help make both weapons familiar again.

So, should you vote for the Combat Assault Rifle or the MK-Seven? Here are our thoughts.

When it comes to the stats of both weapons, there isn’t a great deal between the Combat Assault Rifle and the MK-Seven. Both are available in Common to Legendary rarity, and both weapons feature the same fire rate, magazine size, and even identical reload times. Although it is worth noting that the Combat Assault Rifle has a DPS of approximately 20-30 higher, with the Legendary Combat Assault Rifle having a DPS of 207, compared to the MK-Seven which has a 180 DPS.

The main difference between this two weapons is that the MK-Seven uses a red dot scope, putting the player in the first-person perspective similar to the scoped weapons in the game, whereas the Combat Assault Rifle is more similar to the previous Assault Rifles in the game.

Both weapons have a rather high level of recoil, meaning it can be difficult for players to fire accurately if holding the fire button down, however the Combat Assault Rifle has a much higher recoil than the MK-Seven.

When it comes to which one you should vote for, it comes down to whether you want a third-person style weapon with a higher DPS or a scoped weapon with a slightly lower DPS.

So, now I’ve explained the differences between each weapon, which one will I be voting for? I think it will be the Combat Assault Rifle. While it isn’t a weapon I went out of my way to use in Chapter 2 Season 8, the current scoped Burst Rifle that has replaced the MK-Seven is a much better weapon and I don’t see the need for two similar weapons to be in the game.

However, I do believe the MK-Seven will win the vote overall due to it being incredibly popular last season and a lot of players missing it when it was vaulted at the start of this season.
