Fortnite Snack-O’-Lantern Gizmo is a new Fortnitemares utility item that turns one inventory slot into a portable burst of Halloween consumables. Epic says to toss the Gizmo, smash it open and collect the pile of Exotic Candy that spills out.
The value is flexibility rather than damage. You can keep the container intact until your squad actually needs the Candy instead of carrying several individual seasonal consumables too early.

Throw the container onto the ground and break it open. Exotic Candy spills out and can be collected by you or your teammates.
Epic does not publish one fixed Candy combination for every container, so do not assume each Gizmo contains identical results.
How to use it
Carry the Gizmo until you reach a reasonably safe position, throw it, smash the container and then divide the Candy. The item is opened in the world rather than consumed directly from the inventory.
Tell teammates before breaking it so one player does not accidentally grab every useful consumable.
When should you break it?
Open it when the Candy can immediately solve a healing, movement or utility problem. Breaking it in exposed terrain can scatter loot where the enemy team can steal it.
A protected room, the safe side of a completed fight or the start of a long rotation is a much better moment.
Does it deal damage?
Epic describes the item as a Gizmo that spills Exotic Candy, not a grenade or launcher. The smash step is for opening the loot container.
Do not throw it at an opponent expecting Pumpkin Launcher damage or an explosive effect.
What Candy can it drop?
The official notes guarantee Exotic Candy as the category but do not give one permanent result table. Other Fortnitemares Candy appearing elsewhere does not prove every type comes from this item.
Once the live drop table is reproducible, the individual results can be added without guessing.
Is it worth carrying?
It is useful when you want future support consumables but do not want to spend several inventory slots yet. In Squads, one stored container can support multiple people.
It is less attractive if you already have strong guaranteed healing and need the slot for a weapon or mobility item.

The October event remains active through November 1, so this page is built around the current live behavior rather than prerelease placeholders. Epic can still adjust loot or balance during the month.

Fortnite Snack-O’-Lantern Gizmo makes the most sense when one slot needs to cover several possible support needs later in the match. Keeping the container intact preserves that flexibility until the squad knows what the next fight actually requires.
Fortnite Snack-O’-Lantern Gizmo should be opened before inventory pressure becomes a problem, not after every player is already carrying full stacks and has no room to pick up the Candy.
