The Fortnite Slap Splash returns through Loot Hacks on October 15, giving Battle Royale players a healing item that also helps with movement. Throwing one near your character or teammates provides health or shields and triggers the Slap effect, which lets you sprint without exhausting your stamina for a while.
That makes it quite different from the weapons in the same Loot Hack rotation. You won’t win a fight by throwing a Slap Splash at somebody, but you can heal a squad and get moving before another team turns up. There is one thing to watch: the splash can affect other nearby players too.
Unlocking Slap Splash in Loot Hacks

Open the Battle Royale Loot Hacks menu and select Slap Splash from the v42.40 choices. Spend Sprite Dust to unlock the option and activate it for your Personal Loot Pool before entering the match.
After unlocking the hack, search eligible chests in Battle Royale or Zero Build. Fortnite Slap Splash joins your possible chest rewards rather than appearing in your inventory at the beginning of a match.
What Slap Splash actually restores
Slap Splash is a throwable utility item. Its original version healed health or shields in an area around the impact, rather than only restoring one type of bar. The Slap effect is an extra bonus on top of the healing.
Earlier versions of Fortnite Slap Splash restored 15 health or shields per use alongside the Slap sprint effect. The current item description shows the amount you receive in v42.40.
How to use it on your squad
Gather teammates close together, then throw the splash at the ground where its area can cover everyone who needs the benefit. Using one item to help several players can be more valuable than using a heal on yourself while the rest of the squad is still weak.
Remember that the splash affects nearby characters in its area, not just a player you’re directly aiming at. With Fortnite Slap Splash, don’t throw it into a melee scrum where you’re standing next to an opponent you’d rather not heal.
What is the Slap sprint effect?
Slap is Fortnite’s stamina-related movement effect. It allows you to keep sprinting for a limited period without draining your normal stamina bar, which can be useful when moving towards the next zone or chasing a team that’s trying to escape.
The Fortnite Slap Splash gives you a movement window after healing. Use that time to rotate across dangerous ground, reach cover or reposition rather than spending the entire effect standing still while sorting inventory.

Slap Splash versus Chug Splash
Chug Splash is a solid group heal. Fortnite Slap Splash adds a burst of stamina-free sprinting, which is particularly handy if the Storm is closing or you need to reach cover after healing.
Fortnite Slap Splash is useful when you want healing and a burst of stamina-free movement together. Carry Chug Splash instead if restoring health or shields is your only priority and you don’t need the sprint effect.
When is it worth carrying?
The best moments are often between fights: you’ve taken some damage, the Storm is moving or you want to leave an exposed area quickly. Splash the team, then use the sprint effect to get out before someone catches you healing.
In Zero Build, a movement boost can be particularly welcome when there are long stretches without structures to protect you. Fortnite Slap Splash works as a support item rather than a replacement for a shotgun or ranged weapon.
Why isn’t Slap Splash in my chests?
First make sure the v42.40 Loot Hack is unlocked and active. You can have several choices competing for your attention in the Personal Loot Pool, but selecting an option only affects eligible future chest rolls.
If Fortnite Slap Splash hasn’t appeared yet, check that its Loot Hack is active and keep opening eligible chests. Other chest rewards can still appear.
