Fortnite Galaxy Hours are live now, giving players 24 hours of increased Galaxy Sprite appearances before the event ends on August 17, 2026. The limited-time event is part of Sprite Spree Week, which is running during the final days of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3: Runners.
Epic Games confirmed that Galaxy Sprites will be easier to find throughout Fortnite Galaxy Hours, making this one of the best opportunities remaining this season to search for Galaxy Sprite variants that are still missing from your collection.
When Does Fortnite Galaxy Hours End?

Fortnite Galaxy Hours began at 9:00 a.m. ET on August 16 and lasts for a full 24 hours.
| Fortnite Galaxy Hours | Date and Time |
|---|---|
| Start time | August 16 at 9:00 a.m. ET / 1:00 p.m. UTC / 2:00 p.m. BST |
| End time | August 17 at 9:00 a.m. ET / 1:00 p.m. UTC / 2:00 p.m. BST |
| Main bonus | Galaxy Sprites are easier to find |
| Event | Sprite Spree Week |
That means players have until August 17 at 9:00 a.m. ET to take advantage of the increased Galaxy Sprite availability. Epic describes Fortnite Galaxy Hours as a full day focused on finding the cosmic Sprite variants.
There is no need to wait for a smaller individual Galaxy Hour window this time. Unlike previous Galaxy Hours events that only ran for specific blocks during the day, the August 16 event remains active continuously for 24 hours.

How to Find Galaxy Sprites During Fortnite Galaxy Hours
The main Fortnite Galaxy Hours bonus is straightforward: Galaxy Sprites are easier to find while the event is active.
Players should therefore use the 24-hour period to search the Island for Galaxy Sprites and any variants they have not already collected. Sprites can be found during matches and extracted to permanently add them to a player’s collection.
Once a Sprite has been found, it can be added to the collection by successfully extracting it using extraction Sites or Portable Extractors. Collected Sprites can then be brought into future matches rather than having to find the same Sprite again.
The increased appearance rate during Fortnite Galaxy Hours does not guarantee that a particular Galaxy Sprite will appear, so players may still need to search across multiple matches.
Fortnite Galaxy Hours Is Part of Sprite Spree Week
Fortnite Galaxy Hours is only one part of a larger Sprite Spree Week running during the end of Chapter 7 Season 3.
Several Sprite-related bonuses are currently active for the remainder of the season. Epic has confirmed that Sprites now level up twice as fast, while summoning an extracted Sprite costs zero Sprite Dust.
Campfires also level Sprites faster, providing another way to improve collected Sprites before the season ends 2x the current XP already! Now is the time to collect!
Daily Quests can additionally reward a Lucky Locator Gizmo, while new Sprite Spree quests are available and can reward either a Sprite or Sprite Dust when completed.
These bonuses are not restricted to Fortnite Galaxy Hours and remain part of the wider end-of-season Sprite Spree event.
What Comes After Fortnite Galaxy Hours?

Galaxy Sprites are only the first of several Sprite types receiving dedicated increased-appearance periods during the final days of the season.
Once Fortnite Galaxy Hours ends on August 17, Holo Hours begins. Holofoil Sprites will appear more frequently until August 18 at 9:00 a.m. ET.
That will be followed by Cube Hours beginning August 18 at 9:00 a.m. ET, with Cube Sprites appearing more often for another 24 hours.
The final announced event is Gem Hours, beginning August 19 at 9:00 a.m. ET. Gem Sprites will appear more often from that point through the end of the season.
| Sprite Spree Event | Increased Sprite |
|---|---|
| August 16 | Galaxy Sprites |
| August 17 | Holofoil Sprites |
| August 18 | Cube Sprites |
| August 19 | Gem Sprites |
Is Fortnite Galaxy Hours Worth Playing?
For anyone still missing Galaxy Sprites, Fortnite Galaxy Hours is the most useful time to search for them before Chapter 7 Season 3 ends.
The increased availability gives players a larger window than previous Galaxy Hours events, while the wider Sprite Spree bonuses make it easier to level and use collected Sprites at the same time.
There is also a strict deadline. Fortnite Galaxy Hours ends on August 17 at 9:00 a.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. BST, when Holo Hours takes over and the increased spawn focus moves from Galaxy Sprites to Holofoil Sprites.
Players trying to complete their Galaxy Sprite collection should therefore make use of the current 24-hour window while Fortnite Galaxy Hours remains active.
