Fortnite Extract 3 Sprites in One Match is a Week 2 Treasure Hunters quest worth 20,000 XP, and the wording is more important than it looks. Finding three Sprites isn’t enough. You have to successfully extract all three before the same match ends. That’s the part that makes this trickier than opening a few Chests.

If we were tackling the Fortnite extract 3 Sprites in one match quest, we’d resist the urge to run all over Crossbones Isle. Find some Wanted Posters, dig up their Sprite Chests and choose a nearby Extraction Site. It’s a lot more manageable than carrying a precious Sprite around while chasing every fight in sight.

Fortnite extract 3 Sprites in one match: step-by-step

For the Fortnite extract 3 Sprites in one match quest, the route is find, collect, extract, repeat. You can play Battle Royale or Zero Build, and all three successful extractions need to happen during that single round.

For the Fortnite extract 3 Sprites in one match quest, start near Lantern Lanes or Plunder Port. This official map shows POIs, not the exact Extraction Site markers. Image: Epic Games.
  1. Land around Lantern Lanes and collect a weapon.
  2. Find a Sprite Wanted Poster on a wall and interact with it to obtain a Treasure Map.
  3. Follow the map to the buried Sprite Chest, dig using your Pickaxe and open the Chest to obtain a Sprite.
  4. Head towards a Sprite Extraction Site. Interact with the pirate-themed pipe organ to summon an Extraction Crate.
  5. Wait for the crate to land, then deposit your Sprite inside. Keep collecting and extracting until your Week 2 quest counter reaches three.

We’d check the quest counter after each deposit. Merely reaching the site, opening the Rift or carrying the Sprite doesn’t complete an extraction. If you can bank one now and collect the next one afterward, that’s absolutely fine, provided you finish the three in the same match.

Where are the Sprite Extraction Sites?

There are eight fixed Extraction Sites across Crossbones Isle. Four sit around the wider Lantern Lanes area, which makes it our favourite starting point for the Fortnite extract 3 Sprites in one match challenge. You’ve got options if one station is busy or the Storm moves in the wrong direction.

Area Extraction Sites
Lantern Lanes to Windmill Village 2
Lantern Lanes to Cursed Cavern 2
Plunder Port 1
The Chest to Loot Lagoon 1
Fortune’s Plunder to The $.$. Rocky 2

We’d start around Lantern Lanes and work towards one of the two sites between there and Windmill Village. The other pair towards Cursed Cavern gives you a fallback. Plunder Port is also useful for a southern start. Look for the actual Extraction Site markers in-game; the map above shows the named locations rather than the individual stations.

How to deposit a Sprite in an Extraction Crate

At a Treasure Hunters site, find the pirate-themed pipe organ and interact with it. A Rift opens and calls down the Extraction Crate. It takes a little while, so we’d make sure we’re armed and keep watching for other players rather than just stare at the sky.

Step back as the crate lands because it causes knockback. Then go to the crate itself and deposit your Sprite. Once the deposit is made, it’s secured to your collection even if you are eliminated later. For the Fortnite extract 3 Sprites in one match objective, this is the action we want to see reflected in the tracker.

Our favourite route for collecting three Sprites

We’d start at Lantern Lanes, search its buildings for Wanted Posters and follow the Treasure Maps to buried Sprite Chests. This is far more predictable than relying on random ordinary Chests. Our Sprite Wanted Posters guide explains the digging process if you haven’t done it before.

Bank a Sprite at the nearest site, then hunt for another. You can also pick up Sprites dropped by eliminated opponents, although we wouldn’t deliberately pick a fight just for that. The aim of the Fortnite extract 3 Sprites in one match quest is to stay alive long enough to finish, not collect an impressive number of eliminations on the way.

Can a Portable Extractor help?

Yes. A Portable Extractor is a consumable Gizmo for extracting your equipped Sprite without visiting a fixed station. It’s a useful backup if you’ve collected a Sprite and the Storm is cutting off your route. You can access Gizmos from the Pickaxe slot, and get more through progression or Sprite Dust services.

We’d save one for when it’s genuinely useful rather than spend it beside a perfectly good Extraction Site. See our Treasure Hunt Gizmos guide for the controls and how these items work.

Why isn’t the Fortnite extract 3 Sprites in one match quest counting?

First, make sure you’re actually depositing the Sprite, not just opening its Chest or summoning the crate. Second, remember that your three extractions must happen in one round. One Sprite in three separate matches won’t finish the Week 2 objective.

Don’t mix this up with the Week 0 quest that asks you to open three Sprite Chests using Wanted Posters. That counts Chest openings. The Fortnite extract 3 Sprites in one match quest counts extractions, which means you must complete the extra step at a site or through an available extractor. Check the actual quest counter if you’re unsure whether an action has registered.

Is Treasure Hours the best time to do it?

Saturday’s Treasure Hours boost Fortune Sprite appearances, while Mastery Monday brings more Wanted Posters and Sprite Chests. We like that extra help, but we’d still choose a safe route over landing in a packed hot spot. A bigger pile of loot doesn’t help much if you’re eliminated with your Sprites still unbanked.

Our advice for Fortnite extract 3 Sprites in one match is simple: poster, map, buried Chest, Extraction Site, deposit. Repeat until you’ve banked three during the same game. That’s your 20,000 XP and one more completed Weekly Quest towards Captain X. For the remaining challenges, have a look at our Treasure Hunters Week 2 quests guide.
