Fortnite Design a Sprite winners are now part of Chapter 7 Season 4’s live Sprite collection, and five feature in the October 24 Community Sprites Power Hour: Onigiri, X-Ray, Pond, Dumpster Dive and Honey.
Epic Games selected the Bullet Sprite, Dumpster Dive Sprite, Honey Sprite, Pond Sprite and X-Ray Sprite from more than 20,000 community designs submitted during the Design a Sprite contest.
All five Fortnite Design a Sprite winners now have live in-game forms. The list in the original contest announcement remains useful for historical reference, but the October 24 featured roster reflects the later Onigiri replacement.
The five designs did not arrive together at the August 20 season launch. They entered the game over later updates, and the October 24 event boosts their appearance rates along with their variants. The original Bullet design listed in the contest announcement was subsequently replaced by Onigiri.
Fortnite Design a Sprite Winners in the October 24 Power Hour
Epic’s October 24 Community Sprites announcement names Onigiri, X-Ray, Pond, Dumpster Dive and Honey as the five boosted in-game characters, with increased appearance rates for their variants too. The earlier winner list below reflects the original contest announcement. Bullet was originally named, but Epic later replaced it with creator Enorull’s Onigiri design, as covered in our Onigiri Sprite guide. That historical change is not a sixth boosted Sprite. See the October 24 Power Hour schedule and rewards for the current event.
All Fortnite Design a Sprite Winners
The five Fortnite Design a Sprite winners are:
| Sprite | Creator | Original suggested ability |
|---|---|---|
| Bullet Sprite | Enorull | Ammo Boxes grant additional ammunition |
| Dumpster Dive Sprite | StinkyPrincessGoose | Gather loot by jumping into dumpsters |
| Honey Sprite | Conejito_sam | Sends bees toward an enemy who damages you |
| Pond Sprite | Pine & Kiri | Increasing water speed with additional Level 5 bonuses |
| X-Ray Sprite | Avila215 | Temporarily reveals nearby players through objects |
These abilities were associated with the community concepts submitted during the competition.
Epic Games has not yet confirmed that every ability will work exactly as originally proposed when the Fortnite Design a Sprite winners become playable.
Abilities can potentially be adjusted during development for balance or technical reasons, so the final in-game descriptions should be confirmed once each Sprite is released.
Bullet Sprite
The Bullet Sprite was created by Enorull and is one of the five Fortnite Design a Sprite winners selected for Chapter 7 Season 4.
Its original concept focused on ammunition.
The proposed Bullet Sprite ability causes Ammo Boxes to provide slightly more ammunition when searched.
It is a relatively straightforward ability compared with some of the other winning concepts, but one that could remain useful throughout an entire Battle Royale match.
Additional ammunition could be especially valuable when using weapons with high fire rates or when players have limited opportunities to search for supplies.
Exactly how much additional ammunition the Fortnite Bullet Sprite will provide has not been confirmed.
Epic Games could also adjust the ability before release, so any exact ammunition bonus should be considered unknown until the Sprite becomes available.
Dumpster Dive Sprite
The Dumpster Dive Sprite was designed by StinkyPrincessGoose.
Its design has a raccoon-like appearance that fits the unusual gameplay ability included with the original concept.
The suggested Dumpster Dive Sprite ability allows players to gather loot by jumping into dumpsters.
Dumpsters have long been usable objects around Fortnite maps, typically allowing players to hide inside them or move through particular environmental interactions.
The Dumpster Dive Sprite concept turns those objects into potential sources of loot.
How frequently players could receive items, what type of loot could appear and whether individual dumpsters could be used repeatedly have not been confirmed.
Those details would significantly affect how strong the Dumpster Dive Sprite becomes if its proposed ability reaches the final version unchanged.
Honey Sprite
The Honey Sprite was created by Conejito_sam and has one of the most combat-focused proposed abilities among the Fortnite Design a Sprite winners.
The original Honey Sprite concept reacts when an enemy damages the player.
A beehive emerges and releases a swarm of bees that briefly pursues the attacker.
That could make the Honey Sprite unusual because its power would activate defensively rather than requiring the player to directly trigger an attack.
It is not yet known how much damage the bees could deal, how long they would follow an opponent or how often the ability could activate.
Those values would be particularly important for balancing the Honey Sprite during Battle Royale.
Epic Games has confirmed the Honey Sprite itself for Chapter 7 Season 4, but its final ability and statistics have not yet been announced.
Pond Sprite
The Pond Sprite was created by Pine & Kiri and focuses heavily on water movement.
Its proposed power becomes stronger as the Sprite progresses through its stages.
The original Pond Sprite ability increases the player’s movement speed while in water, with the bonus increasing at each stage.
At Level 5, the concept also proposes increased jump height and reduced fall damage.
That would potentially make the Pond Sprite useful both for travelling through water and for general mobility once fully levelled.
Its effectiveness will naturally depend on the Chapter 7 Season 4 map and how much water is available around important locations.
The exact speed increase at each stage has not been confirmed, and Epic Games has not yet announced whether the Level 5 jump and fall damage bonuses will appear unchanged in the final version.
X-Ray Sprite
The X-Ray Sprite was submitted by Avila215 and has one of the most immediately recognizable abilities among the Fortnite Design a Sprite winners.
Its proposed ability temporarily reveals nearby players through walls and other objects.
If that mechanic reaches Fortnite largely unchanged, the X-Ray Sprite could provide players with valuable information about enemies hiding inside buildings or behind cover.
The effect is intended to last for a limited period rather than permanently revealing nearby opponents.
Epic Games has not confirmed the final range, duration, cooldown or other restrictions attached to the X-Ray Sprite.
These limitations will be important because the ability to detect players through cover could become extremely useful during close-range fights and endgame situations.
When Are the Fortnite Design a Sprite Winners Coming Out?

The Fortnite Design a Sprite winners will arrive during Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Override.
However, Epic Games has specifically described the five winners as arriving in mid-season updates.
This means players should not necessarily expect Bullet Sprite, Dumpster Dive Sprite, Honey Sprite, Pond Sprite and X-Ray Sprite to become collectible immediately when Chapter 7 Season 4 launches on August 20.
Epic has not provided individual release dates for any of the five Sprites.
They could potentially arrive together or be spread across several Chapter 7 Season 4 updates.
Until Epic confirms the schedule, there is no exact release date for each Fortnite Design a Sprite winner.
How Did the Fortnite Design a Sprite Contest Work?
The Design a Sprite contest began on June 17, 2026 and allowed Fortnite players to submit their own original Sprite concepts.
Designs could be posted through X, Instagram or TikTok using the Design a Sprite hashtag, or submitted through the FortniteBR community on Reddit using its dedicated contest flair.
Players were allowed to submit up to two original Sprite designs.
Epic initially announced that it intended to select three community-created Sprites to become real additions to Fortnite.
The response was significantly larger than that initial number suggested.
Epic Games later revealed that more than 20,000 Sprite designs had been submitted and ultimately announced five Fortnite Design a Sprite winners rather than three.
Those five community creations will now become part of the new Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprite generation.
Are the Fortnite Design a Sprite Winner Abilities Confirmed?
The designs themselves are confirmed, but players should be careful when looking at the abilities being associated with each Fortnite Design a Sprite winner before release.
The Bullet, Dumpster Dive, Honey, Pond and X-Ray concepts were submitted with suggested gameplay abilities.
Those concepts give a strong indication of what each creator intended their Sprite to do.
However, Epic Games has not yet published final in-game ability descriptions for the five winning Sprites.
The finished versions could therefore receive balancing changes, altered statistics or other adjustments before they are released.
The safest way to view the current abilities is as the powers proposed by the original winning concepts rather than final Chapter 7 Season 4 statistics.
Will the Design a Sprite Winners Be in the Sprite Garden?
The Fortnite Design a Sprite winners are becoming part of the Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprite generation.
Epic Games has confirmed that Sprites collected during Season 4 will be added to the player’s new Sprite Garden as they are gathered.
That means players will be able to add the community-created Sprites to their collection once they become available and are successfully collected.
The Sprite Garden also preserves the Sprites players collected during Chapter 7 Season 3, allowing the new community designs to join an existing collection rather than beginning an entirely separate system.
Are More Community Sprites Coming to Fortnite?
Epic Games has only confirmed these five Fortnite Design a Sprite winners from the 2026 contest.
However, the competition generated more than 20,000 submissions, meaning thousands of other Sprite concepts were created by the Fortnite community.
Epic has not announced another Design a Sprite competition or confirmed that additional unsuccessful entries will be added later.
For now, Bullet Sprite, Dumpster Dive Sprite, Honey Sprite, Pond Sprite and X-Ray Sprite are the five community designs officially confirmed to become part of Fortnite.
The Fortnite Design a Sprite winners are expected during mid-season Chapter 7 Season 4 updates, with exact release dates, final abilities, rarities and collection requirements still to be announced.
