Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 map shows the original island during the flipped island and snowy launch. After the Chapter 2 finale, the island flipped and Chapter 3 opened with a fresh landscape. Most of the map was covered in snow at first, while Sanctuary, the Daily Bugle, Greasy Grove, Coney Crossroads and other new destinations gave players an unfamiliar network of landing spots. The snow melted during the season, revealing more roads and grassland.
The map below is from the season’s opening update, v19.00. Open it at full size, then compare it with the previous season to see which areas were added or changed. Later mid-season updates sometimes altered the same locations again, so the patch number matters.

Locations and landmarks in Chapter 3 Season 1
Sanctuary was closely associated with the Seven, while the Daily Bugle’s tall building and surrounding terrain made it an obvious landing choice. The return of Greasy Grove gave veterans a recognisable name, although it belonged to a different island.

How the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 island changed
As the snow retreated, the map became greener and new details emerged. Covert Cavern was introduced later in the season, so it should not be expected on the opening v19.00 map.

The Chapter 2 map disappeared after The End. The new island was not simply a reshuffle of Apollo’s POIs; its terrain, central routes and named regions changed entirely.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 map: How to recognise the historical version
The start of Chapter 3 was particularly memorable because the snow covered so much of the island. The Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 map gradually revealed more greenery and familiar-looking roads as the winter conditions retreated. The Daily Bugle offered vertical fights around its offices, while Sanctuary provided an important setting for the Seven’s story.
As the snow retreated, the map became greener and new details emerged. Covert Cavern was introduced later in the season, so it should not be expected on the opening v19.00 map. The historical image above represents the start of the season. If you are comparing a video from several weeks later, a notable POI may look different because it changed in an intervening update. That doesn’t make either snapshot wrong.
The Chapter 2 map disappeared after The End. The new island was not simply a reshuffle of Apollo’s POIs; its terrain, central routes and named regions changed entirely. Looking at the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 map alongside the earlier image gives a clearer sense of how Fortnite’s geography evolved than relying on one picture from each chapter.
