Vegeta New Form Debuts in Dragon Ball Super
While I may be more into My Hero Academia for my preferred shounen adventures, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t also a huge fan of the Dragon Ball franchise. I hadn’t followed Super too seriously through its anime run, and have mostly just been taking in information from the manga that became popular through online circulation. With all this talk of a Vegeta new form, I had to check it out and boy am I not disappointed. Here’s all we know about it. Spoilers ahead.

So, here’s the new design taking the anime community by storm. While not usually a fan of forms introduced in Super, I think this one looks pretty damn cool.
Based on spoilers uploaded to Twitter (account here is doing translations and posting story spoilers), it appears this form was one taught to Vegeta by the God of Destruction, Beerus. While not in color now, I imagine the hair color or flames around Vegeta would be purple to stay true to how Destruction Power has been depicted thus far. While one form of translation I saw mentioned it being a form using instinct, it appears to be a form entirely different from Ultra Instinct.
The classic look of Super Saiyan hair is gone, so I have to assume this is something more similar to Ultra Instinct or Ultimate Gohan in that it has no relation to the Saiyan race. As stated before, it seems to be reliant on Destruction Power, so I’m not sure if this is merely a form a mortal would take when replicating a God’s power, or something unique to Vegeta. Notable in the design is a focus on musculature, which has seemed to go to the sideline with Toriyama’s art shift, and the lack of eyebrows like in Super Saiyan 3.

Clearly, a ton is unknown about this new Vegeta form, but hopefully the next chapter of Super will answer fans’ questions. After all, the reveal here is the cliffhanger of upcoming chapter 74. Here’s hoping this new form will actually go to use rather than letting Goku get the spotlight again…
