ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter is an Epic throwable recovered from defeated Bullies on Pendola Pass or sometimes found in ARC Couriers. It bursts into eight explosive clusters when thrown, each capable of dealing 40 damage over a five-metre spread. You need six for Research Station level 3 and may need more for Anvil research, a quest and Trials, so selling your early drops can delay important upgrades.
Fighting a Bully is more dangerous than opening a loot container, but its Fragmenter can also be equipped as an explosive throwable. This guide covers reported spawn areas, the easiest way to collect the item, all confirmed uses, and how to land damage during the Season 6 Trial without throwing away an entire stack.
How to get ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter
Defeat a Bully on Pendola Pass and search the body for its Fragmenter. The enemy can charge, fire a turret burst and scatter explosive clusters, so fight from substantial cover rather than standing on open snow. Community drop records typically show one Fragmenter per defeated Bully, though official material doesn’t give an exact guarantee.
Reported Bully patrols include Railroad Junction, the Commissary Supermarket, the Frozen River area below Northern Tracks, Railyard and Piazza della Rupe near the fallen Emperor. A farming route from Railroad Junction towards Commissary checks several possible encounters without wandering across the entire map. They are moving enemies, not fixed loot chests, so an empty location doesn’t mean your game is broken.
For combat details, our Bully weak points guide explains the yellow leg joints, turret opening and attack pattern. Our Pendola Pass map guide can help plan a safe extraction when you finally have the materials you need.

Can ARC Couriers drop ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter?
Yes. Current item databases list ARC Couriers as another source, including ones on maps where Bullies themselves don’t spawn. Breach or search Couriers as you encounter them, but don’t expect the same item every time. Electromagnetic Storm conditions can provide more opportunities to check Couriers during an ordinary loot route.
Farming an ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter through Couriers is an alternative when you have no appetite for a dangerous Bully fight. It can take longer to get a stack, but you may finish other quests or collect workshop materials while looking. Our Electromagnetic Storm guide covers the condition and its loot opportunities.
ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter stats and explosive damage
The Fragmenter is labelled as recyclable, but it can also be equipped and thrown. On impact it splits into eight smaller explosives over a short area, making it most useful against large targets or groups in a confined space. A direct throw under a large enemy gives more of the clusters a chance to hit than a throw into empty space beside it.
| Property | Recorded value |
|---|---|
| Rarity | Epic |
| Damage | 40 × 8 clusters |
| Blast spread | 5 m radius |
| Weight | 0.4 kg |
| Stack size | 3 |
| Sale value | 5,000 Coins |
| Sources | Bully and ARC Courier |
The Fragmenter doesn’t automatically hit every target with all eight 40-damage clusters. Its spread means total damage depends on where you throw it and how many clusters reach the enemy. Small moving targets can escape the centre, while a large, relatively stationary ARC machine gives the fragments a better chance to connect.
How many ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter items should you keep?
Keep six for Research Station level 3. The upgrade also requires three Differential Microphones and three Exodus Technical Handbooks. Anvil Blueprint research is a separate option at Research Station level 2 and has a recorded cost of five Bully Fragmenters, one Rusted Tools and 3,000 Research Points. These are separate uses, not the same upgrade listed twice.
There’s also a Fragmenter objective in Apollo’s Bait, Fetch, Blast quest. The Click’s quest walkthrough explains its Bully head, leg and Fragmenter tasks, so check your active card before extracting. If you want both the research project and station upgrade, reserve enough for the actual menu requirements before throwing spare items at enemies.
Our Research Bench guide covers the research system, Outpost upgrades lists station progression, and Anvil Blueprint guide covers the separate weapon route. That is usually more useful than selling the first ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter you find for its attractive price.

ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter Trials: best damage strategy
Embark’s official Season 6 announcement includes a Trial to deal damage using a Bully Fragmenter. When the challenge is active, you can carry several into a raid and use them against a large ARC enemy. Community strategies favour throwing directly beneath a Bombardier, where several explosive clusters can hit the same target.
For the ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter Trial, wait until you have a predictable angle and then throw beneath or immediately beside the machine. Keep nearby cover ready: you have to survive enemy attacks and still extract with a registered score. Missed throws are expensive because each Fragmenter is consumed, so avoid wasting them on small targets already leaving the blast area.
The Bully Fragmenter challenge appeared in Season 6, but Trials rotate weekly. Check the current board rather than assuming this objective or its thresholds remain active. Our Trials Season 6 Maestro guide explains the broader ranking system. PvE test settings have changed across October; check the current matchmaking options before following an old Trials video.
Safely extracting with ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter
After defeating a Bully, check its body, confirm the Fragmenter is in your inventory and use a Safe Pocket if your loadout has one. A long noisy fight can attract other Raiders, and losing the item on your way out means another trip for the same workshop material.
Once you have an ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter to keep, prioritise getting home over hunting a second Bully with depleted ammunition. Pendola Pass uses Ballistic Gondola extractions, so plan enough time to reach a transceiver, call the gondola and board after it lands. An item is only useful for research once it reaches your stash.

Should you sell or use ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter?
It sells for 5,000 Coins, but it is harder to replace than ordinary scrap. If Research Station level 3 is unfinished, keep the required six first. After that, decide whether you need further Anvil research or intend to use them for a Trial. Selling genuine spares may be sensible when you have no remaining progression use.
For an ARC Raiders Bully Fragmenter farming session, balance your coin needs against the number of difficult kills required to rebuild your supply. A handful of early sales can feel profitable until you realise those were the exact materials holding up your Outpost’s next research tier.
