Sailor Piece Gum-Gum Fruit is a Mythical fruit obtained from the Sea 1 Treasure Hunt, with a reported 2% drop chance when digging up treasure. You can’t roll it from the usual Coins or Gems Fruit Dealer. To start hunting, buy Nami’s permanent Shovel on Sailor Island and look for red X marks across Sea 1.
You can use Gum-Gum for its own combat moves, or work towards Model Nika. An awakening when you eat Gum-Gum can put Model Nika into your inventory, although eating Model Nika still requires the lengthy Joy Boy questline. First, you’ll need Nami’s Shovel and a bit of patience with the treasure spawns.

Where to get Sailor Piece Gum-Gum Fruit
To find the Sailor Piece Gum-Gum Fruit, teleport to Sailor Island and speak to Nami. She sells a permanent Treasure Hunt Shovel for 10,000,000 Gold and 500,000 Gems. You pay once and keep it for every later dig. After buying it, use your Sea 1 teleport options to hunt red X marks on the ground.
Travel between Sea 1 islands and look for a large red X on the ground. Stand on it and hold Dig until the action completes. Only the first player to finish digging gets that treasure spot, which gives one to three items. If it isn’t Gum-Gum, you might still get currency, crafting materials or keys. Keep a Straw Hat if you find one: Joy Boy’s questline later requires you to equip it.
Sailor Piece Gum-Gum Fruit drop chance and Treasure Hunt timer
The reported chance for Sailor Piece Gum-Gum Fruit is 2% in the Treasure Hunt reward pool. That’s a chance on a dig, not a guarantee after fifty tries. There is no reliably documented Luck formula for this drop, so don’t assume your character’s other bonuses change the figure.
The game’s recorded Treasure Hunt cycle places a red X on Sea 1 islands about every 15 minutes. Only the first player to finish digging a spot gets its loot, so you can arrive at the right island after someone else has already taken it. A private server or a circuit through several islands can make repeated hunting less frustrating.
For more attempts, visit several islands each cycle. If an X is missing, another player may already have dug it. Buying the Shovel again or rolling fruits at the Fruit Dealer won’t improve your chances of finding Gum-Gum.

Other rewards from Nami’s Treasure Hunt
Most digs won’t yield a Mythical item. The ordinary pool includes Gold, Gems, Wood, Iron, Obsidian, Artifact Dust and Energy Cores. Rarer finds include rerolls, Boss Keys, Boss Tickets, Dungeon Keys, Relics, shards and Secret Chests. The Straw Hat is the other headline drop, with a reported 2% chance alongside Gum-Gum’s 2%.
That Straw Hat matters if you’re planning Joy Boy’s questline, because one stage requires you to obtain and equip it. Saving your treasure rewards while you chase the Sailor Piece Gum-Gum Fruit can put you ahead later, especially when the quest starts asking for specific accessories and reroll outcomes.
Gum-Gum Fruit moveset and cooldowns
The Sailor Piece Gum-Gum Fruit uses a stretchy four-hit basic-attack combo alongside five named moves. This is the base Gum-Gum kit, not the later Model Nika moveset. The reported cooldowns are below.
| Key | Move | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|
| Z | Red Hawk | 7 seconds |
| X | Grizzly Magnum | 9 seconds |
| C | Hawk Gatling | 11 seconds |
| V | King Kong Gun | 20 seconds |
| F | King Cobra | 35 seconds |
You’ll need to build Gum-Gum mastery if you’re heading for Model Nika: Joy Boy’s requirements include 300 Gum-Gum Mastery and 1,000 kills using Gum-Gum. So practising with the fruit isn’t separate from your later progression; it’s a direct part of the unlock chain.
How to awaken Gum-Gum into Model Nika
Eating a Sailor Piece Gum-Gum Fruit can trigger an awakening that adds a Model Nika Fruit to your inventory. The awakening isn’t guaranteed. You’ll see a 10% chance quoted in community guides, but there’s no independently confirmed rate, and repeated attempts don’t promise a drop by a particular number of fruits.
You’ll still have to complete Joy Boy’s sixteen-stage questline before eating Model Nika. That includes maxing all three Haki types, completing Hard or Extreme Light Raid runs, gaining the King of Pirates title, beating the Luffy boss five times and equipping the Straw Hat. Our Sailor Piece Luffy Update guide covers the new boss and questline added in October.
Can you roll Sailor Piece Gum-Gum Fruit from the gacha?
No. The Sailor Piece Gum-Gum Fruit is listed as exclusive to the Treasure Hunt. Rolling Coins or Gems at the Fruit Dealer won’t give you this particular fruit, even if you’ve saved enough currency for many rolls. Spend your time checking the red X spots instead.
For other One Piece-inspired games with very different fruit pools, see How to Get Magnet Fruit in Blox Fruits and our Grand Piece Online codes guide. Neither game’s gacha works like the Sailor Piece Treasure Hunt.
