Disney Dreamlight Valley Hidden Smiles are five glowing green grins hidden around Oogie Boogie’s Mirror Lair during the Week 5 Let the Games Begin quest. Two are beside the dice and skeletons near Oogie Boogie’s Lucky Wheel, while the other three are around Whack-a-Pumpkin, the right staircase and the nightmare clock.
You must interact with all five before the minigame awards its Oogie Boogie Tile. The confusing part isn’t just finding the smiles: the reward tile appears inside the little fenced area near the left staircase, not automatically in your inventory. Here’s an easy lap of the lair that gets all five in one visit.
How to unlock the Dreamlight Valley Hidden Smiles hunt

You need to reach the fifth Oogie Boogie mission, Let the Games Begin, which opened October 21, 2026. Finish Rescue Mission, read Oogie Boogie’s new letter, craft the Genuinely Lucky Wheel with five cogs from The Ghost in the Portrait and the sixth from Oogie Boogie’s new letter and give it to him through the Strange Mirror in Scrooge’s Store. Then the four minigames, including the Dreamlight Valley Hidden Smiles hunt, become active.
You can complete the games in any order. If you’re arriving straight from the wheel, follow the steps below as a loop starting from the left-hand staircase. If you’ve already found a few green grins, skip them and check the spots you haven’t reached yet.
All five Dreamlight Valley Hidden Smiles locations
| Smile | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| 1 — Large dice | At the upper end of the left staircase near Oogie Boogie and the Lucky Wheel, inspect the large dice. The green smile is on a lower dice face. |
| 2 — Skeleton enclosure | Just beyond the dice, go into the little fenced section. Examine the skeleton inside for a second green smile. |
| 3 — Pumpkin game wall | Cross the upper level to the enclosed Whack-a-Pumpkin game. Check the wall inside the game area for a green grin. |
| 4 — Right-side skeleton wall | Near the top of the right staircase, look towards the skeleton decorations and the tile-puzzle side of the room. The grin is on the wall by that display. |
| 5 — Nightmare clock | Move towards the far-right area behind the tile game. Look closely at the dark nightmare clock; another green smile is on the clock. |
Each Dreamlight Valley Hidden Smiles marker looks like a green grin rather than a large quest item. Walk right up to the object and use the interact prompt. There is no need to break the dice, skeletons or clock with the pickaxe. The smile disappears when collected, and the quest tracks your total out of five.
Dreamlight Valley Hidden Smiles: Fastest route around the lair
Stand beside Oogie Boogie’s newly repaired wheel. Go towards the left staircase and collect the dice smile, then step through the enclosure behind the dice for the skeleton smile. Next, walk around the upper walkway and enter Whack-a-Pumpkin for the smile on its wall.
Leave the pumpkin enclosure and follow the path towards the right staircase. Examine the wall beside the skeleton group, then go to the tile puzzle and look behind it for the nightmare clock. This completes all five Dreamlight Valley Hidden Smiles markers without needing to revisit the lower-floor Lava Pond.
Where does the Dreamlight Valley Hidden Smiles reward tile appear?

After the fifth grin is removed, the Oogie Boogie Tile appears in the fenced section beside the large dice at the top of the left staircase. Go back towards the Lucky Wheel, enter that enclosed section and pick the tile up from the floor. It is a separate action from collecting the green grins.
Collecting all five smiles doesn’t automatically collect the reward tile. If you’re missing a tile at the final puzzle, this fenced area is the first place to check. Make sure you have inventory space before picking it up; community reports describe trouble retrieving a quest tile after an initial pickup attempt with a full bag.
Dreamlight Valley Hidden Smiles not appearing?
First confirm the Dreamlight Valley Hidden Smiles task is active in Let the Games Begin. The objects exist in Oogie Boogie’s Mirror Lair rather than your normal Valley, and the smiles are only quest interactions while that stage is running. If you can see four of the five, use the location table to retrace the dice, skeletons, pumpkin wall, right staircase and clock in turn.
The nightmare clock is especially easy to overlook because it sits in darker scenery. Look from the tile game towards the back-right corner of the upper floor. The wall marking near the skeletons also blends into the decoration, so approach it rather than checking from the centre of the room.
If all five prompts disappear without advancing the counter, save and restart. That sometimes helps with Week 5 progression problems, but it hasn’t worked for everyone. If all five prompts have disappeared and the counter still hasn’t advanced, save your game and submit a report to Gameloft with your platform and quest stage. There’s no confirmed special item required to reveal the grins.
What happens after finding all five?
The Dreamlight Valley Hidden Smiles tile is one of four needed at the tile-puzzle station. Earn the others by spinning the Lucky Wheel five times, fishing the Lava Pond and smashing ten pumpkins. After placing all four tiles, use the Royal Shovel to make the blue image of Jack Skellington, speak to Oogie Boogie and leave through the Strange Mirror.
For the full quest order, see our Season of Scares schedule and Oogie Boogie unlock guide. The October 28 final quest is when the permanent villager reward becomes available, not when you finish the smiles hunt.
