Every qualifying kill has a guaranteed ticket reward, but the number of tickets per hunt hasn’t been announced. Pick large monsters you can finish quickly and consistently rather than chasing a supposedly better drop rate.
For regular farming, fit large-monster hunts into your usual route through the Halloween 2026 event. Elder Dragon Interceptions are another confirmed source, especially when you’re already hunting for rare materials. Halloween Weapon Upgrade Tickets also come from the MH Now Halloween 2026 I quests and the event Exchange Hub, so remember to check rewards there before spending time on extra hunts.
Which weapons use Halloween Weapon Upgrade Tickets?
Halloween Weapon Upgrade Tickets are used to level up and overgrade Skullwhistle and Cawscythe, which becomes Squawkscythe at Grade 6. They can also raise the style-customisation level of supported Halloween weapons. Those are the weapon names in the official material table, but Cawscythe and Squawkscythe are stages of the same Long Sword, not every piece of limited-time equipment. Style unlocking itself uses a different item, so collecting upgrade tickets alone won’t unlock every customisation choice.

Starting without a Halloween weapon? Open Special Quests, complete the Halloween 2026 I objectives for forging tickets, and forge your chosen weapon. After that, open its upgrade screen and look at the next grade before exchanging any tokens. Monster Hunter Now’s announcement warns that some event weapon upgrades can still require monster materials as well as tickets. Keep an eye on the event calendar because token collection ends November 8, the shops close November 15 and any limited hunting tickets from the EX Hub expire on November 22.

Halloween Weapon Upgrade Tickets are most valuable while the reduced requirements are active. For a returning Halloween weapon you’re actually going to use, collecting them during ordinary hunts avoids spending extra zenny and gathering materials on eligible upgrade stages. If you haven’t decided on a weapon, check its current stats and playstyle in game before using limited resources; the announcement doesn’t provide damage comparisons that would justify ranking one as universally best.
Work towards the upgrade you can actually finish before November 15.
