Ghost Balloon is returning Halloween-exclusive armour in Monster Hunter Now for the October 26 to November 8, 2026 event. To forge it, you’ll need Reissue Halloween Forging Tickets from the MH Now Halloween 2026 I event quests. Halloween Armor Upgrade Tickets then handle discounted upgrades, with the event exchanges providing those upgrade tickets until November 15.

There are two steps to getting this piece ready: collect a reissue forging ticket from the first questline, then use armour upgrade tickets from the exchanges before the discounted material requirements end. Its skill list needs an in-game check when the event launches; the event announcement doesn’t specify those stats.
How to get Ghost Balloon forging tickets
Complete the MH Now Halloween 2026 I questline, which starts October 26 at 9 AM local time. Reissue Halloween Forging Tickets are named among its rewards, and Ghost Balloon is one of the four pieces of returning equipment that use those tickets. The others are Jack-o’-Head, Skullwhistle and Cawscythe.
All hunters who have completed the prologue can access the Halloween 2026 event quests through Special Quests. The official post doesn’t publish exactly how many forging tickets each stage awards or the number required for each item. Check the equipment crafting screen before spending tickets if you’re planning to forge more than one Halloween piece.
Forging tickets and armour upgrade tickets explained
Ghost Balloon needs a Reissue Halloween Forging Ticket for forging. The separate Halloween Armor Upgrade Ticket is used to level up and overgrade the armour. That second ticket appears in the regular Halloween 2026 Exchange Hub and Halloween 2026 EX Exchange Hub, which accept different event currencies. If you have a Halloween Weapon Upgrade Ticket, it applies to seasonal weapons instead.
| Material | Used for | Confirmed source |
|---|---|---|
| Reissue Halloween Forging Ticket | Forging Ghost Balloon | Halloween 2026 I questline |
| Halloween Armor Upgrade Ticket | Levelling and overgrading seasonal armour | Both Halloween event Exchange Hubs |
| Halloween Weapon Upgrade Ticket | Not used for this armour | Large monsters, Elder Dragon Interceptions, quests, regular exchange |

You can earn ordinary exchange tokens from large-monster hunts, Elder Dragon Interceptions, event quests and part breaks. They’re also used for the Harvest Cloak layered equipment. EX tokens become available from November 2, through the special pumpkin-carrying Kulu-Ya-Ku and their part breaks. Which hub to use will depend on what tickets are available and how much currency you have.
How the reduced material requirements work
From October 26 at 9 AM through November 15 at 11:59 PM local time, certain Halloween equipment upgrades have reduced requirements. Ghost Balloon can be upgraded using Halloween Armor Upgrade Tickets instead of zenny and gathering materials up to specified grades. However, the announcement doesn’t provide a complete upgrade-cost table and cautions that some upgrades can still require monster materials.
Once that reduced-cost period ends, Halloween Armor Upgrade Tickets stop being required, but the quantity and variety of other upgrade materials increase. The event’s material discount therefore offers a useful opportunity to progress the armour sooner, not a claim that all levels are permanently ticket-only. Use the in-game equipment screen to verify the actual cost of your next upgrade.
Ghost Balloon skills and event boost
Ghost Balloon is explicitly included among the Halloween-exclusive equipment that receives an event boost from October 26 to November 8. The official developer post does not provide a numerical bonus for this specific armour, or list its exact skills and unlock grades. Those equipment-specific details should come from the in-game view before appearing in a full build guide.
The Jack-o’-Head Partbreaker (Halloween) skill does have confirmed numbers: 5% extra accumulated part damage, multiplied by ten during the event. That is the effect of Jack-o’-Head, not a stated Ghost Balloon effect. The Halloween-wide double part-break rewards apply throughout the event separately from individual armour skills.
Is Ghost Balloon worth forging?
If you already own this armour from a previous Halloween, check its current upgrade screen before spending a forging ticket on another piece. For a fresh forge, focus first on quest rewards, then the armour tickets available from both exchange shops. Comparing its combat value must wait until its precise skills can be checked in game. If part breaking is your primary goal, the separate Jack-o’-Head guide explains the confirmed specialised boost that the developer highlighted.
The key dates are November 8 for the end of hunts, token collection and equipment boosts, followed by November 15 for Exchange Hub spending and reduced upgrade costs. You can also use the event overview for monster rotations and Harvest Cloak guide for another collectible you may want to prioritise while earning the same currency.
