Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Super Shadow: How to Unlock the Both-Passes Reward

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Super Shadow is the Year Two bonus for players who own both Season Pass One and Season Pass Two. SEGA also includes the Super Dark Flare machine with that reward. It’s a DLC-ownership bonus, not a free Rival Duel challenge, and buying only the second season pass won’t meet the condition.

The two-pass condition matters because the newly announced Year Two Digital Deluxe Edition contains the base game and Season Pass Two, not the original Season Pass One. If you want Super Shadow rather than just the Godzilla crossover, here’s what to check before purchasing more content.

How to unlock Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Super Shadow

  • Own Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on the platform account you’re using.
  • Own Season Pass One, the original set of licensed crossover DLC.
  • Own Season Pass Two, which begins November 3 with Godzilla and continues through 2027.
  • Once the bonus becomes available, confirm both DLC entitlements and look for the Super Shadow racer and Super Dark Flare vehicle.

SEGA has announced the two-pass requirement but hasn’t provided a reliable in-game button-by-button claim path or a specific activation time for the bonus. You can prepare the ownership condition now; don’t follow guides inventing a secret duel opponent or a guaranteed free code.

Does buying Season Pass Two unlock Super Shadow?

Only if you already own Season Pass One. Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Super Shadow requires both passes, irrespective of order. The US Season Pass Two price is $29.99, so a returning original Deluxe Edition owner may only need that purchase, while a player who has the standard game but no DLC needs both passes.

Year Two Deluxe costs $59.99 US and bundles the base game with Season Pass Two. That package doesn’t change the two-pass reward into a single-purchase bonus. If you’re starting from scratch, check the first pass’s storefront listing before budgeting.

Super Dark Flare: the machine included with Super Shadow

Super Dark Flare is the second part of the Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Super Shadow ownership reward. SEGA’s promotional images show the vehicle separately from the SEGA Consoles Pack, which consists of three machines and belongs to the new pass. Buying Season Pass Two may provide the consoles pack even when you don’t qualify for Super Dark Flare.

There’s no announced standalone Super Dark Flare purchase price or race requirement. The reason the machine appears next to Super Shadow in the roadmap is the shared entitlement: ownership of the old and new season passes.

Is Super Shadow free in Rival Duel?

No free Rival Duel unlock has been announced for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Super Shadow. Rival Duel is the new single-opponent mode associated with unlocking Bayonetta, who arrives in the free November 3 update with her Butterfly Witch machine. Winning Duel Mode races is not an alternative to owning both passes for Shadow.

The free update also brings 15 gadgets and the Grand Master Gadget Plate. You can use all those features without paid DLC, but none has been listed as a requirement or substitute for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Super Shadow.

Which version of the game should you buy?

If you already own the original Digital Deluxe Edition, check whether its Season Pass One entitlement is present, then add Season Pass Two separately if needed. If you own the new Year Two Deluxe, you already have the second pass and need the first. If you have only the standard game, you need both DLC passes for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Super Shadow.

There isn’t a reason to buy the complete Year Two Deluxe bundle again if the base game already belongs to your account. Storefront licences and owned DLC lists are more useful here than trusting whichever edition has the word Deluxe in its name.

Why isn’t Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Super Shadow appearing?

  • Before the November 3 Year Two rollout, don’t assume the bonus has launched.
  • Check that Pass One and Pass Two are purchased or correctly included in your bundles.
  • Make sure you’re using the same supported platform account that owns both DLC licences.
  • Install the free Year Two update and restart the game after purchases finish downloading.
  • Check the roster for Super Shadow and the garage for Super Dark Flare separately.
  • If all ownership conditions are met after launch, consult official SEGA support rather than buying an identical DLC product twice.

SEGA has not detailed exact platform-specific timing or a secret claim sequence. A missing Super Shadow before the announced rollout is not evidence of an account fault. The key verifiable rule is the two-pass requirement.

Is owning both passes worth it just for Super Shadow?

That’s down to whether you’ll also enjoy the original and Year Two collaboration content. You can buy Season Pass Two for its six new packs, or play free Bayonetta and Duel Mode without either pass. Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Super Shadow is a collector bonus that may require more spending than a single character would justify on its own.

If Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Super Shadow is your priority, inspect your existing pass ownership first, then buy only the missing pass. It’s a much more reliable route than chasing an unannounced duel challenge.
