Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe is more than a label on the store page because Square Enix has itemised the entire bonus pack and explained when several of its rewards become usable. That makes it possible to decide whether the upgrade has value before launch instead of relying on vague promises of premium items. The bundle is focused on a chocobo appearance, one special ability unlock item and a stock of useful early-game supplies rather than an expansion, season pass or separate story chapter.
It is also important to separate this paid pack from the preorder bonuses. The Magitek Airship reward and starter equipment advertised for preorders are not the same thing as the contents of Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe. Mixing those lists can make the Deluxe version look larger than it really is. The clean comparison is the base game plus the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack, with preorder or early-purchase rewards treated as separate promotions when they apply.
What is included with Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe?

Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe includes the base game and the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack. The pack contains one Magitek Armor Key, one Archwitch’s Grimoire, one Mastery Ring, five Tents, five Mist Potions, five Mist Ethers, five Phoenix Downs and three Remedies.
The Magitek Armor Key changes your chocobo’s appearance into magitek armor. Square Enix says you enable it from the Items section of the main menu. The Archwitch’s Grimoire is exclusive to this pack and unlocks a certain character’s Fel Meteor Limit Burst. The publisher does not identify that character in the store description, so the safe approach is not to guess before the game confirms it.
The remaining Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe items are practical supplies. Tents, recovery items and Remedies are aimed at reducing early-game friction, while the Mastery Ring is included as a distinct equipment reward. None of the official descriptions frame the pack as a new campaign or major DLC episode.
When can you claim the Deluxe items?
The Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe rewards are not all simply dumped into your inventory on the title screen. Nintendo’s official listing says you can claim the items from the postbox in front of the inn in the Town of Mitra after progressing beyond a certain point in the game.
That wording matters if you start the game and cannot immediately see the pack. Reaching the relevant story point is part of the claim flow. It is better to continue until Mitra and check the postbox than to assume the purchase failed because the items are absent during the opening minutes.
Can you buy the Deluxe Upgrade separately?
Yes. Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe content is also offered through a separate Digital Deluxe Upgrade on supported storefronts. Nintendo has dedicated upgrade listings for the Switch and Switch 2 versions, and Steam sells the Digital Deluxe Edition alongside the Standard Edition.
Platform matching matters. Nintendo explicitly warns that the Switch 2 Digital Deluxe Upgrade applies to the Switch 2 version and is not compatible with the separate Switch release. Likewise, the Switch version has its own product. Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe is therefore not a cross-platform entitlement simply because the bonus list is identical.
This is also not a Switch hardware upgrade. Buying the Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe Upgrade does not convert the original Switch game into the dedicated Switch 2 game. Nintendo separately states that there are no plans for a Switch to Switch 2 upgrade pack.
How is the preorder bonus different?
The preorder Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack is separate from Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe. That pack includes a Magitek Airship Passkey, Knight’s Greatsword, Chestplate of Preparation, one Magicite Shard, three Tents and three Mist Potions. Its cosmetic changes the airship rather than the chocobo.
The distinction is useful because a Standard Edition preorder can still receive a preorder promotion where offered. Buying Deluxe is not required solely to obtain every time-limited preorder item. Check the product page for your region and platform because promotional deadlines and availability can differ.
Is the Digital Deluxe Edition worth it?
The value of Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe depends on whether you care about its exclusive items. The strongest unique attractions are the magitek chocobo appearance and Archwitch’s Grimoire with its Fel Meteor unlock. The consumables are helpful, but they are not presented as irreplaceable progression systems.
If you are unsure, the existence of a separate upgrade is useful. You can buy Standard, start the RPG and add Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe later on the same platform if you decide the cosmetic and ability reward justify the extra cost. For collectors who also want physical goods, the Collector’s Edition includes access to the Digital Deluxe Upgrade alongside its art book, soundtrack, acrylic set and FFTCG card.
