Black Ops 7 VS Rebound Havoc Repeater: How to Unlock and Use Ricochet Rounds

Black Ops 7 VS Rebound Havoc Repeater

Black Ops 7 VS Rebound Havoc Repeater is a Season 6 Fire Mod for the VS Recon sniper rifle that changes its firing behavior dramatically. Instead of treating the sniper as a conventional precision weapon, the conversion creates a fast-firing semi-auto platform whose rounds can ricochet off surfaces multiple times.

The conversion is not a free damage upgrade. Black Ops 7 VS Rebound Havoc Repeater improves ammunition capacity and handling, but Activision explicitly reduces base damage and range in exchange for the faster, trick-shot style behavior.

Black Ops 7 VS Rebound Havoc Repeater is a Season 6 Weekly Challenge reward. Open Career, Challenges and Weekly Challenges and select the week showing the Havoc Repeater as the reward. Complete any six challenges from that weekly set.

The challenge system supports Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame and Warzone, and your six completed tasks can be mixed across those modes. That means one difficult objective does not block the attachment, because progress can come from any six eligible challenges in the weekly set.

After the weekly milestone is claimed, open the VS Recon in Gunsmith and look in Fire Mods. The Havoc Repeater only applies to the VS Recon and is not a universal ammunition type.

How the ricochet rounds work

The defining feature of Black Ops 7 VS Rebound Havoc Repeater is that fired rounds can bounce off surfaces multiple times. That gives the conversion unusual value around corridors, rooms and hard cover, where a missed direct shot can still travel into another angle.

Ricochet behavior does not mean you should intentionally shoot every wall. Direct line-of-sight hits remain easier to control. The bounce mechanic is most useful when an opponent is using cover or when geometry lets you pressure an area without exposing yourself fully.

The faster semi-auto fire rate also changes how the VS Recon feels. You can follow up more quickly than with the normal sniper behavior, which makes the weapon more forgiving if the first shot does not finish the fight.

What you lose by equipping it

Black Ops 7 VS Rebound Havoc Repeater reduces base damage and range. Those are serious costs on a weapon class normally chosen for reliable long-distance damage. The conversion therefore shifts the VS Recon away from its normal sniper identity.

In Warzone, armour makes the damage reduction especially relevant. A build that is entertaining in Multiplayer can feel inefficient if it takes too many follow-up hits against plated opponents. Treat the attachment as a conversion with a new role, not as a straight improvement to the standard rifle.

The gain in ammo capacity and handling helps compensate by letting you shoot more often and move the weapon faster. The strongest use case is likely mid-range pressure, unusual angles and repeated follow-up shots rather than classic long-range sniping.

Network Special camo progression fix

The Season 6 patch notes also confirm a bug fix involving Black Ops 7 VS Rebound Havoc Repeater. Treyarch fixed an issue where equipping the Fire Mod on the VS Recon prevented progression for the Network Special Camo challenge.

If you avoided the attachment because Network Special was not tracking, the official notes say that issue has been fixed. Make sure your game is fully updated before testing the challenge again.

Best way to use the Havoc Repeater

Black Ops 7 VS Rebound Havoc Repeater rewards a different rhythm from normal sniper play. Use cover, fire quick follow-up shots and look for geometry where a ricochet can create pressure. The conversion is a poor fit for extreme-range builds because reduced range is one of its stated trade-offs. It makes more sense when the ricochet effect can matter inside closer or more enclosed fights.

Handling improvements make it better suited to active movement, while the extra ammunition gives you more freedom to attempt bounce shots. A recoil or stability attachment can help keep rapid semi-auto shots on the same area if you are using the conversion more conventionally.

Black Ops 7 VS Rebound Havoc Repeater is one of the more distinctive Season 6 rewards because it changes the identity of the weapon. Unlock it for the ricochet mechanic and faster follow-up fire, not because you expect a conventional sniper damage buff.

Activision details the Black Ops 7 VS Rebound Havoc Repeater effect, its Weekly Challenge unlock and the Network Special camo fix in the official Season 6 patch notes.
