Pokémon Champions Stat Points: How SP Training Works

Pokémon Champions Stat Points

Pokémon Champions Stat Points are the streamlined stat-training system, with 66 SP available in total and a maximum of 32 SP in any one stat. This replaces the traditional 510-EV style distribution with a much smaller set of numbers for quicker competitive team building.

Pokémon Champions Stat Points are changed through the training system alongside moves and Abilities. Training normally costs VP, while Training Tickets can remove the VP cost for supported training actions.

  • 66 total SP are available.
  • A maximum of 32 SP can be placed in one stat.
  • Competitive builds use Champions SP rather than a direct 510-EV copy.
  • Training normally uses VP, with Training Tickets available as an alternative resource.

How SP differs from EVs

Stat Points are not the old EV values with a new label. Champions compresses stat training into 66 total points.

When copying a main-series build, translate the competitive goal instead of pasting a 252/252/4 spread directly into Champions.

How to change Pokémon Champions Stat Points

Open training for a permanently available Pokémon and edit its distribution. Trial Recruitment Pokémon cannot be trained while they remain temporary.

SP adjustment sits inside the same broader training system used for moves and Abilities.

VP and Training Tickets

VP is earned from Ranked Battles and other activities and is used for recruitment and training. Pokémon says VP cannot be directly purchased.

A Training Ticket can reduce the required VP for supported training to zero.

Stat Points on HOME visitors

HOME visitors can be trained inside Champions. That Champions-side training does not rewrite the Pokémon stored in HOME.

Champions can remember training when the same visitor returns later, although form changes can affect that saved setup.

How Replica Teams use SP

Replica Teams can apply another player’s shared build to Pokémon you own, including the Pokémon Champions Stat Points distribution.

You still need the required Pokémon and held items, and applying the build can use training resources.

Simple SP planning

Start with the stat that supports the Pokémon’s real job, then use the second major allocation to reach an offensive, defensive or Speed target.

Use current M-C matchups rather than copying an old regulation build without checking why its benchmarks existed.

Can you retrain later?

Yes. Champions is designed around changing competitive builds more quickly than a traditional RPG.

Pokémon Champions Stat Points reward testing: play several matches, identify a specific weakness and then adjust the spread with a reason.

Common Pokémon Champions Stat Points spread shapes

A simple offensive spread can put 32 SP into the main attacking stat, 32 into Speed and the remaining 2 into a third stat. That is the Champions equivalent of committing almost everything to immediate damage and turn order.

Bulkier Pokémon do not need to follow that template. A support Pokémon may gain more from splitting points across HP, Defense and Special Defense, while a slower attacker can spend less on Speed and use the freed points to survive specific hits.

Use SP for real matchups, not round numbers

The most useful Pokémon Champions Stat Points changes answer a specific question: can this Pokémon survive a common attack, outspeed a particular threat or secure a knockout it currently misses? That is more valuable than filling two stats simply because 32 is the maximum.

When a Regulation M-C team changes, revisit the spread instead of assuming an older benchmark is still relevant. New legal Pokémon and Mega Evolutions can change the Speed and damage targets that matter.
