Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak is the ten-day Artifact farming window at the start of each Stygian Onslaught cycle. For the September 2026 rotation it runs from September 30 to October 10, and Adventure Rank 45 players who clear Hard or higher can spend Resin after the fight to claim rewards from a selected Domain of Blessing.
The reason Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak deserves its own page is the deadline. Stygian Onslaught itself continues until November 3, but the special Resin claim system closes on October 10. Waiting until the final week of the combat event is therefore too late if your goal is the chosen Artifact rewards, bonus five-star pieces and Dire Prestige milestones.

How to unlock Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak
Reach Adventure Rank 45, unlock Stygian Onslaught, clear Hard difficulty or above and choose a Domain of Blessing through Reward Settings. The selected Domain must already have been visited on your account before it can be chosen as a reward source.
After an eligible clear, Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak creates a special disturbance-affected Ley Line Blossom. Spend the supported Resin type on that blossom to receive the selected Domain’s highest-level rewards. The encounter therefore acts as an alternate Artifact claim point rather than a new Artifact set source.
What Resin can you spend in Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak?
| Resin type | Reward multiplier | Dire Prestige |
|---|---|---|
| Original Resin | 1x | 20 |
| Condensed Resin | 2x | 40 |
| Fragile Resin | 3x claim | 60 |
| Transient Resin | 3x claim | 60 |
Each Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak claim also awards Companionship EXP to the active characters when the battle ends. In Co-Op, participating characters can receive the normal multiplayer Companionship EXP bonus, which makes the farming loop useful for friendship progression as well as Artifacts.
How Artifact selection works in Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak
Open Reward Settings before farming and choose an unlocked Domain of Blessing. The event uses the highest-level drop table from that Domain, so you can target the two Artifact sets associated with it without travelling back to the original entrance after each run.
This is particularly convenient for older Domains with awkward travel routes, but the real value is the additional Artifact economy created by Dire Prestige. The selected Domain still determines which two five-star sets can appear from the bonus threshold reward.
Dire Prestige from Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak
Every Resin claim during Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak builds Dire Prestige. At 120 Dire Prestige, you receive an additional random five-star Artifact from the two sets available in the selected Domain. This threshold can be reached repeatedly while the Outbreak is active, so a long Artifact farming session can generate several extra pieces.
At 1,200 Dire Prestige, the cycle also grants the one-time Dire Commendation milestone. The exact reward is handled through the current Stygian system and is separate from the repeating 120-Prestige Artifact bonus. Use our Dire Prestige guide for the full milestone math.
Does Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak require Dire difficulty?
No. The name Dire Prestige does not mean Dire difficulty is required. Hard is enough to unlock the special Resin claim if you meet the Adventure Rank requirement. Menacing, Fearless and Dire also qualify, but there is no need to force the hardest tier purely to access the Artifact farming system.
That makes Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak much more accessible than the weapon-skin chase. A player who only wants Artifacts and Primogems can clear Hard, claim the 450 Primogems from the first three reward tiers and then farm the selected Domain during the ten-day window without solving every high-end boss modifier.
When does Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak end?
The September 2026 Disturbance Outbreak closes on October 10 at the event’s listed server time. After that point, Stygian Onslaught remains playable until November 3, but Resin can no longer be spent through the event for the selected Domain of Blessing rewards.
That is the date to plan around. The broader Stygian Onslaught September 2026 guide covers the full event window, but Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak is the part that can actually disappear while the three bosses are still available.
Best use of Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak
Choose a Domain where both Artifact sets have reasonable value for your account, clear Hard or higher consistently, and spend the Resin you already intended to use during the ten-day period. Check the 120-Prestige thresholds as you go so the bonus five-star pieces are part of the farming decision rather than an afterthought.
Genshin Impact Disturbance Outbreak is not free Artifact farming because every claim still consumes Resin. Its advantage is efficiency, convenience and the extra Prestige rewards layered on top. Use it for a set you genuinely need, not simply because the event screen is new.
