The Fisch Marianas Awakening Update is live and turns the old Mariana’s Veil progression into a much larger endgame quest. The headline addition is the Obsidian Trench, but reaching it now requires five descendant quests, five gauntlets, the Crevice Wall puzzle and a layer-gem sequence.
Once inside, the Fisch Marianas Awakening Update adds Trench Suppression, Veiled Charybdis encounters, the Skolopendra boss, 22 new fish overall and the Chasm-Stalker Rod. It also adds a new code, MarianaIsGoingCrazy, with a bundle of free rewards.

Obsidian Trench progression
The new area is not unlocked by simply travelling farther down Mariana’s Veil. Speak to Vaelor at Roslit Bay, work through all five descendants, solve the Crevice Wall and activate every layer gem before the Abyss Gate opens.
That makes the Obsidian Trench the culmination of the Fisch Marianas Awakening Update rather than a side location. Players who never completed the old Mariana’s Veil progression may need to finish those layer unlocks before they can efficiently work through the new chain.
Five descendant quests and gauntlets
Ignis is in Volcanic Vents, Glacius in Challenger’s Deep, Tenebris in Abyssal Zenith, Luminis in Calm Zone and Resonus in Veil of the Forsaken. Each gives a specialised fishing quest tied to their layer and rewards a gauntlet.
The first three tasks use the newly added Charred Coelacanth, Obsidian-Plated Piranha, Hoarfrost Halibut, Glacial Gulper, Lumin-Lure Lanternfish and Void-Drifter Jelly. Our gauntlets guide has the current quest order and verified requirements.
Trench Suppression and white crystals
The Fisch Marianas Awakening Update gives the new area its own environmental pressure system. Trench Suppression builds while you are inside the Obsidian Trench, making extended exploration more dangerous.
Glowing white crystals around the trench act as temporary cleansers. Interact with them to purge suppression and extend your time in the area instead of trying to ignore the debuff while fishing.
Veiled Charybdis and Skolopendra
Veiled Charybdis is a special trench encounter with its own reeling hazards. Whirlpools can remove rod control during the minigame, so catching it is more involved than an ordinary bestiary fish.
Catch roughly four to six Veiled Charybdis and the crystals around the trench turn deep red. That visual change signals the Skolopendra awakening, opening the update’s major boss sequence.
22 new fish
The update adds 12 entries to the Obsidian Trench and 10 more across Volcanic Vents, Challenger’s Deep, Abyssal Zenith, Calm Zone and Veil of the Forsaken. The new fish are therefore spread across the whole Mariana’s Veil rather than being isolated in one pool.

New Chasm-Stalker Rod
The Chasm-Stalker Rod becomes an endgame target after conquering the trench and defeating Skolopendra. It introduces a new mutation, powerful passives and a streak system that rewards successful catches.

New MarianaIsGoingCrazy code
The new code is MarianaIsGoingCrazy. Current verified reward lists give 1,000 Coins, 10 Instant Catchers, 5 Luminous Larva, the Him companion and a random item.
