The Fortnite Override Series is Epic Games’ current run of crossover tournaments for Chapter 7 Season 4, with each event built around a different gaming collaboration. Mega Man opened the series with a Duos tournament, Kingdom Hearts followed with Solo Battle Royale and Zero Build Cups, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners moves the main event to Trios.
That changing structure is the most important thing to understand about the Fortnite Override Series. It is not one tournament with a single permanent format. Team size, available modes, mobile events and cosmetic rewards can all change from one crossover Cup to the next, so players need to check the current event rather than relying on the rules from the previous one.
Fortnite Override Series schedule

The Fortnite Override Series schedule has already moved through several different crossover Cups during September 2026. Epic’s current competitive pages list the September 19 to September 20 Override window, with the exact session date and time depending on matchmaking region.
| Override Cup | Date | Main format |
|---|---|---|
| Mega Man Cup | September 8 | Duos Battle Royale |
| Kingdom Hearts Cup | September 18 | Solos Battle Royale and Zero Build |
| Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Cup | September 19 | Trios Battle Royale and Zero Build |
Those dates refer to the main event windows. Some regions can roll over into the following calendar day, and the mobile versions use their own shorter sessions. Fortnite’s Compete tab remains the safest place to check the exact local start time for your region.
What is the Fortnite Override Series?
The Fortnite Override Series is a group of competitive Fortnite events tied to Chapter 7 Season 4’s gaming crossover theme. Instead of running one branded Cup all season, Epic is using the series name across different collaborations and changing the tournament setup to fit each event.
The Mega Man Cup, for example, used Duos and included a Mega Buster elimination objective alongside placement-based rewards. Kingdom Hearts changed the main tournament to Solos and offered both Battle Royale and Zero Build sessions. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners changes the main competition again by using Trios while retaining separate Battle Royale and Zero Build versions.
That makes the Fortnite Override Series more like an umbrella for crossover competitions than one traditional seasonal tournament. A player who entered one Cup should still check the next event page because team size, scoring, prizes and even the available game modes can be different.
How to play in the Fortnite Override Series
To enter a current Fortnite Override Series event, open Fortnite and go to the Compete tab. Find the relevant Override Series card for your region, check whether it uses Battle Royale or Zero Build, and make sure you have the correct team size before the session begins.
- Open Fortnite and go to the Compete tab.
- Select the current Override Series event.
- Check the session time for your matchmaking region.
- Confirm whether the event uses Solos, Duos or Trios.
- Choose Battle Royale or Zero Build when both versions are available.
- Queue during the active tournament window.
Epic’s current event pages state that players must be at least 13 years old, or meet the minimum age required in their country of residence, and must have multi-factor authentication enabled on their Epic account. Individual Cups can have additional rules, so the event card and rules page should be checked before queueing.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners Override Series schedule
The current Fortnite Override Series event is the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Cup on September 19. In Europe, the main Battle Royale and Zero Build Trio sessions run from 5 PM to 8 PM UK time.
There is also a separate mobile-only Solo Battle Royale Cup. In Europe, that session runs from 4 PM to 5:15 PM UK time, one hour before the main Trio event begins.
The Cyberpunk Cup includes the Lucyna Kushinada Outfit, Rebecca Plushie Back Bling and smaller point-based cosmetics. We have the full event breakdown in our Fortnite Cyberpunk Edgerunners Cup guide and a separate Cyberpunk Cup rewards guide.

Kingdom Hearts Override Series Cup
The Kingdom Hearts event took place on September 18 and showed how quickly the Fortnite Override Series format can change. Instead of the Mega Man Duos setup, the main Kingdom Hearts Cups used Solos, with separate Battle Royale and Zero Build sessions.
The headline reward was the Sora Outfit for players who finished inside the required regional placement range, while the Glowing Keyhole Spray used a fixed eight-point requirement. Our Fortnite Kingdom Hearts Cup guide covers the full event, with the reward requirements in our Kingdom Hearts Cup rewards guide.

Mega Man Override Series Cup
The Mega Man Cup was one of the first clearly branded Fortnite Override Series events and used Duos Battle Royale. Epic attached several different reward paths to it, including placement prizes and a special elimination objective involving the Mega Buster.
The event also established the pattern of using crossover cosmetics as tournament incentives rather than making every reward depend on one leaderboard position. Our existing Fortnite Override Series rewards guide covers the Mega Man reward structure in detail.
Does every Override Series Cup have the same format?
No. The Fortnite Override Series has already used Duos, Solos and Trios across different Cups. Battle Royale appears throughout the series, while both Kingdom Hearts and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners also have Zero Build versions of their main events.
Mobile players can also receive a separate event rather than competing directly in the standard Cup. These mobile sessions can use a different team size, shorter tournament window, scoring setup and reward thresholds, so mobile competitors should use the dedicated event card instead of assuming the main Cup rules apply.
Do you need to qualify for the Fortnite Override Series?
The current Fortnite Override Series Cups are entered through Fortnite’s normal competitive event system rather than a separate multi-stage qualification ladder. If you meet the listed eligibility requirements and the event is available in your region, you can enter during its scheduled session.
That is different from qualifying for a cosmetic reward. Outfits can require a high regional leaderboard finish, while sprays or emoticons may use fixed point or gameplay objectives. Each Cup publishes its own reward conditions, so there is no single placement that applies across the whole series.
Will there be more Fortnite Override Series Cups?
Epic is clearly using the Fortnite Override Series name across multiple crossover competitions, but the company has not published a complete season-long list of every future Cup. That means it is safer to add new events to the schedule as Epic exposes them rather than treating unannounced collaborations as confirmed tournaments.
This page will remain the central schedule and format guide as more Override events appear. For the wider crossover season, our Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 collabs guide tracks the gaming franchises appearing throughout Override.
