EA FC 27 The Grounds Kickabouts

EA FC 27 The Grounds Kickabouts are the casual minigame side of the new shared world, mixing football controls with ideas borrowed from sports such as basketball, bocce and dodgeball.

They are designed for quick social sessions rather than full matches, with different scoring systems, player counts and objectives spread around the districts.

Bocce and Team Keepaway

Bocce is a three-player free-for-all played over three one-minute rounds, with players shooting or passing balls into targets for points. Smaller targets and centre hits score more as the rounds become harder.

Team Keepaway is a 3v3 possession game where teams score for holding the ball, completing passes and winning it back. Passing streaks can increase the scoring multiplier.

The Big Race and Attacking Scenarios

The Big Race is a four-player dribbling challenge across obstacle courses, with players trying to finish while collecting points. Each course has a time limit and placement contributes to the final score.

Attacking Scenarios is a 2v2 mode built around rotating scoring conditions. Different rounds can ask players to score first-time, dribble into goal, use rebounds or complete other specific attacking tasks.

Hoops, Balloons and Goal Control

Hoops is a 2v2 football-basketball hybrid where players score through rings using aerial passes, headers or dunks. Balloons is a four-player elimination game where each player tries to pop the balloons attached to opponents.

Goal Control is a 1v1 territory game using multiple small goals. Players take ownership of goals by scoring through them and build points based on how many they control.

Kick Targets and weekly tasks

Kick Targets are scattered around The Grounds and can be hit by summoning a ball and timing the kick. EA says weekly tasks can send players around the world to find and break targets for rewards.

Because these activities sit inside the shared world, they give players something to do between Clubs sessions without entering a traditional stadium match.

Across the mode, EA FC 27 The Grounds Kickabouts are the mode's casual playground: short football activities with their own scoring systems, team sizes and objectives. They provide variety without replacing the competitive Clubs and stadium side of The Grounds.

For casual sessions, EA FC 27 The Grounds Kickabouts give players something to do that still uses football controls without simply recreating a smaller normal match.

The variety inside EA FC 27 The Grounds Kickabouts is substantial, ranging from target-based Bocce and possession-heavy Team Keepaway to obstacle racing, Hoops and balloon elimination.

Scoring systems make EA FC 27 The Grounds Kickabouts distinct from one another, so learning the best route in Bocce is very different from protecting possession in Team Keepaway or controlling goals in Goal Control.

Some EA FC 27 The Grounds Kickabouts are team modes while others are free-for-all competitions, which gives solo players and small groups several different ways to spend short sessions.

Kick Targets extend EA FC 27 The Grounds Kickabouts beyond formal minigame queues by putting interactable challenges around the world and tying them to weekly tasks and rewards.

Because the activities sit beside Clubs rather than replacing it, EA FC 27 The Grounds Kickabouts are best viewed as a social and progression layer for the time between more competitive fixtures.

Several of the minigames are competitive without being conventional football, which is exactly what gives this part of the world its own identity. A possession challenge, obstacle race or target game asks for different skills than simply trying to score more goals in three minutes.

These activities also give EA obvious hooks for weekly and seasonal objectives. A campaign can ask players to explore a district, complete a casual challenge and then move into a more serious stadium event, linking the social world to competitive progression.

EA details the feature in its official EA SPORTS FC 27 information.
