Battlefield 6 Tidal Strike Update is live with Game Update 1.4.3.0, closing Season 4 with the Deep Six Collection Event, the Royal Navy Diver’s Knife, a new REDSEC Phantom Program, Proximity Chat testing and broad gameplay changes. The patch downloaded from 08:00 UTC on September 15, with the new seasonal content switching on at 12:00 UTC.

This is more than an event toggle. Tsuru Reef Breakthrough has been reworked, Portal has new verified modes and an Ocean Sandbox, vehicle balance has shifted, reticles have been redesigned and REDSEC has additional quality-of-life changes.

Battlefield 6 Tidal Strike Update introduces Deep Six from September 15 through October 12. Players complete contracts and gather Intel Devices across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC to earn Weapon Packages, Customization Rewards and ultimately the Royal Navy Diver’s Knife.

At the same time, REDSEC gets the limited-time Phantom Program on Fort Lyndon. EA describes it as a mix of hidden intelligence, Easter eggs and access-code fragments, with rewards including XP and Weapon Packages. The exact hidden solution is intentionally something players have to discover rather than a list supplied in the patch notes.

Proximity Chat finally enters live testing

Battlefield 6 Tidal Strike Update also adds Proximity Chat to Battle Royale through Battlefield Labs in Live. Nearby voices are directional and affected by walls, indoor spaces and vehicles. Up to four players can be heard at once, and the Battle Royale scoreboard keeps a list of recently heard players so you can mute, report or block them.

The important limitation is that regular Battlefield 6 Multiplayer does not get the feature yet. EA says Battle Royale is the first live test and Multiplayer is planned for later. Our Proximity Chat explainer covers exactly where it works and how to control it.

Tsuru Reef and vehicle balance changes

Battlefield 6 Tidal Strike Update makes substantial Breakthrough changes on Tsuru Reef after EA found the mode was favouring defenders too heavily. Capture zones and objectives move, playable space expands for more flanking routes, boat access improves and spawn/vehicle availability changes across sectors.

Elsewhere, the RCB-90 Patrol Boat receives more health and better steering, Little Bird miniguns overheat faster and deal less damage to Patrol Boats and ATPs, and directional lock-on indicators are removed for supported anti-air missiles. EA’s full Update 1.4.3.0 notes contain the granular balance and bug-fix list.

Portal, reticles and REDSEC quality of life

Battlefield 6 Tidal Strike Update adds King of the Hill and Domination as Verified Portal modes, introduces an Ocean Sandbox Map and expands water/cloud creation tools. Creator and Custom Lobby reliability also receive another pass.

Reticles across optics, launchers and gadgets have been redrawn for cleaner lines, stronger glow and less visual clutter. REDSEC receives mission-flow changes, loot and spectating fixes, AFK detection, an AFK reporting option and leave penalties for designated playlists.

The free trial makes this update unusually important

Battlefield 6 Tidal Strike Update arrives alongside a September 15–22 free trial covering Wake Island, Tsuru Reef, Cairo Bazaar and Hagental Base through selected playlists. That gives non-owners a direct way to test the update while Deep Six is active.

Battlefield 6 Tidal Strike Update is therefore both the final major phase of Season 4 and a useful re-entry point if you have been away. Start with Deep Six if you care about the limited rewards, use REDSEC for Phantom Program and Proximity Chat, and jump into Tsuru Reef Breakthrough if you want to feel the map changes immediately.
