Genshin Impact Moonchase Festival 2026 rewards are led by 950 Primogems on the current Version 7.1 event schedule and the free four-star Sword Silver Light. Moonchase returns to Liyue after five years through the flagship event Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon.

When Is Moonchase 2026?
Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon is currently scheduled from September 24 to October 12, beginning the day after Version 7.1 launches. The celebration is centred on Yilong Wharf rather than simply repeating the old Liyue Harbor version of Moonchase.
950 Primogems
The current event calendar shows 950 Primogems for Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon. That makes it one of the larger individual Primogem sources in Version 7.1, separate from the 1,600 Primogems given for the sixth anniversary.
Free Four-Star Sword: Silver Light
Silver Light is the headline equipment reward. It is a limited event Sword rather than a banner weapon, so completing the event is the route to obtaining it without spending Wishes.
How to Refine Silver Light
The event’s refinement material is Tea-Scented Tassel. As with previous limited event weapons, the important goal is not just claiming the first Sword but earning enough event refinement materials to finish the weapon while the activity is available.
What Do You Do During the Event?
The story follows a mystery connected to Zhongli and Zibai at Yilong Wharf. Three minigames draw on Liyue thaumaturge themes, giving the flagship event more variety than a single combat challenge.
Other Rewards
Expect the usual mix of Mora and character or weapon upgrade materials alongside the headline items. Exact quantities should be checked in the live event menu because the Primogems and weapon are the parts most worth planning around before launch.
Is Moonchase the Anniversary Event?
It overlaps with the anniversary, but the reward pools are separate. The sixth-anniversary 1,600 Primogems, ten Intertwined Fates and character selectors should not be added to Moonchase and then counted again when calculating Version 7.1 income.
What to Prioritise
If time is limited, secure Silver Light and all of its refinement materials first, then finish the Primogem objectives. Ordinary Mora and enhancement materials are replaceable later; an event-exclusive weapon may not be.
Check the Live Schedule
The September 24 to October 12 window and 950 Primogems are shown on the current Version 7.1 schedule. Genshin Impact’s official site and the in-game event page are the final check if regional times shift.
Why Silver Light Is the Priority Reward
Moonchase has replaceable rewards such as Mora and upgrade materials, but Silver Light is a limited event weapon. If your playtime is tight, secure the Sword and every Tea-Scented Tassel needed for its event refinements before worrying about farming ordinary materials that remain available after the festival.
Do Not Double-Count the Anniversary
Moonchase overlaps Genshin’s sixth anniversary, which makes the patch look even more generous. The 1,600 anniversary Primogems and ten Intertwined Fates are separate from the festival’s own reward pool. Keeping those categories apart gives a much more honest picture of what Moonchase itself pays.
A Sensible Order for Clearing the Event
Start the story so all activities are available, clear any time-gated objectives as they open, then finish the minigame thresholds needed for the weapon and Primogems. Leaving every task until October 12 creates unnecessary risk, especially if one challenge needs another quest step before it becomes available.
Can You Get Silver Light After the Event?
HoYoverse has not announced a permanent acquisition route for the event Sword. Limited event weapons have historically been worth prioritising because their original event and refinement materials are not part of normal banner farming.
